Replacing Brake Lights on a 2016 Ford Escape

One of the brake light bulbs had a failure, so it was time to replace them.

I just did it! I didn’t do LED because I wanted to know if the low power draw of the LED would cause the dash warning lamp to go off if you used them because LED’s use so much less power!

the cover doesn't come off that easy and yes it is that one clip that will not release. Not one video shows the cover releasing.

Not sure what you mean by "cover". If you could explain in more detail, I'll try to shoot a video that shows it.

@@magic.marmot the assembly . Your video was the best out of all of them. This was a bad design on Ford's part. One of my plastic clips attached to the assembly by the trunk opening was very difficult to release but eventually came loose without any damage.

Yeah it doesn’t work that way, you’re leaving out the part where you have to separate the clip inside the mold. If you keep pulling you’re damaging your car. Don’t use this video

Could you please explain "separate the clip inside the mold"? Does it have to do with removing the brake light assembly? I've had zero issues, though I have learned a better "pushing" technique that I explain in a later video when I added a trailer harness kit. As for "Don't use this video", you are more than welcome to not use this video. For anyone else, I suggest that you watch this video as well as others so you can get several viewpoints on how to do this. I am certainly not an expert, but I have managed to perform maintenance and repairs without damage for several vehicles now.
