Replace Your Own Brake Hoses
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
I'm replacing all four brake hoses on a 2002 Saturn SC2. After eighteen years of service the rubber was aged and cracking a little bit, and needed to be replaced. I purchased some aftermarket hoses from Amazon and they're working fine; $16.99 each for AutoPart International (API) hoses in the back; $9.69 for one front Sunsong hose; $8.08 for the other Sunsong. RockAuto has the back hoses on close-out for 1/4th that cost at $4.25; the Sunsongs for $5.87 and $6.41 respectively. Replace your old, worn brake hoses if you're itching for something to do.

Thanks for sharing. PS, has anyone told you that you should be a narrator. You have got the perfect voice for it.
Most ppl don’t have blow torches laying around and damn sure don’t know to use one
What type of special container did you use to connect the brake fluid reservoir. Where can I buy that? Interesting. no need to go back and forth to add fluid.
What is the name of the wrench you used with the open mouth? Is special tools the that kind of job?
Shoulda used a adjustable wrench to hold the top of the connection while you were yanking on the flare nut.
I wonder what a good service interval is" 6 years? 9 years? the rubber will start breaking down just due to age & ozone, etc.
Why does my brake caliper / brake hose have no copper washers? I´ve never touched the brake parts and the car was maintained at an authorized dealer before I bought it, so it must be like that from the factory?
Any particular reason why the hoses were changed?
How did you bleed the brakes so quickly?
