    Thanks, Rudy. Bought a new tractor last year, the deck belt broke a few days back. Didn't know how to fix so talked with a Neighbour to borrow is the trailer so I can take to the mechanics. Watched the video several times and decided to bite the bullet and try myself for the first time. I have a Craftsman T100 36" and all worked out well. @@kennethdorminy3003 If the belt is to big then you probably need to get the right belt. So I'm not sure what you're asking? Are the pulleys loose and wobbling around, or are you trying to tighten up the belt pattern because the belt is to big? If the belt is to big, then I wouldn't use it.

You should roll in grease and get super dirty before you do your videos! I also like how you say "let's dive right in!" You could be super dirty and at the end of the video say something like, "now lets dive right in......to the bathtub!" Snap your fingers again and instantly be clean after a bath! Nice video, just 1 item, I just pushed on the engine pulley guard, and it came out of the hole, and moved to the rear, and belt came off. No tools are required for that part. New belt on main engine and pulled on the guard, and it back popped back into the hole. But if you want to remove the screw and then remove the guard from the mower, it's up to you.

    I have so many questions because this will be my first time putting a belt on so I couldn't really tell the direction of the way the belt was going on the opposite side because the camera never really showed that area. Also, what did you pull on to tighten that belt up around that spindle? I seen you reach up to the top of the lawn mower but the camera did not show that part.

  • @JLPicard440

    @JLPicard440

    HI, when the belt lever is in the off position the belt is loose enough to pull it over the spindle with little to no effort. The direction of the belt looks like a "T" if looking at it from the top. It's difficult to explain in a message like this, but it goes around the engine, then the back side of the belt rides on the 2 idlers, then the v part goes around the 2 spindles. From the top it would look like a "T"

    Maybe you can help me. I have a 2019 craftsman t110 with a 42” deck. I’ve had 3 blade engagement cables break on me over a two week span. I also noticed that every time it’d break, the deck brake rod was out of its hole as well. I just replaced the deck brake rod and and it still slips out of its hole. I thought maybe it was because both my pulley guards had broken off so I replaced them both. The rod still keeps popping out and now if I drop my deck to the #3 setting, it loses a lot of power and won’t cut. The engagement cable hasn’t broken again so that’s good. Do you know what’s going on with my mower?

  • @JLPicard440

    HI... Yea that's a good one alright! Probably the cable was breaking because it's getting into a bind. I've seen where those pulley guards can get damaged. But the deck brake isn't something I've seen before. If it had it in front of me, Im sure I could come up with some sort of solution even if it was my own fix! If you have access to FB you can upload a picture there on my Take a Bath Productions page and I could take a look at it and see if anything stands out..

    Do you know why a deck belt would be slipping off of a pulley consistently? I recently (two weeks ago, yet to mow till today) changed the deck belt and the engagement cable per your video instructions, and now the deck belt keeps slipping off of the pulley, specifically on the right side. I can reinsert it, but it will slip again. Might cut for two or three minutes then it will randomly disengage, and I know it will have slipped at that point. They're both MDT parts. I'm stumped.
