Replace a Window Screen

Repair fiberglass window screen in your home's windows by replacing it. The screen mesh comes in two colors silver gray and black. There is a rubber gasket called a spline that holds the screen in the window frame.
Take a piece of the spline, the screen and the frame to the hardware to ensure you get the correct supplies needed to replace your window screens. Match the color. Compare the sizes of available spline and choose the size closest to the size that is installed in your window screen frames. Also, if you are buying a tool to install the spline, ensure that the wheels of the tool fit into the window frame's channel.
Following the steps it this video that explains how to install new screen into your window frames will increase the odds of no wrinkles in the screen nor a screen that is too tight or too loose.

I didn’t know how I was going to do this without another person stretching the screen. I know how I can do it myself now. Thank you! Your videos are so helpful…

It's that time of year. The fiberglass screen material doesn't last long, especially if it gets a lot of sun. Best wishes for the replacement.

Nice tips! The clips are a great idea 👍🏼 I had to change out the lower screen door to plexiglass! Darn cat claws 😸 Have you been on the bike lately? I managed a good ride yesterday, but I need to get into better condition that’s for sure. The headwind made me feel like I wasn’t moving at all! 👋🏻👋🏻

Our boy, Melvin has put holes in a few screens. Yes, I've been trying to get out for a ride 2 times a week. The Spring weather can be a little challenging at times. There have been a few rides where we have fought the wind. I'd rather ride up hills where the wind is typically blocked by the trees, however, no one is in good enough condition in the spring to do that, so it's open flats that are subject to spring wind. Happy riding!

@@Know-How-Now Melvin! I knew it! Safe riding. I was happy to find my Specialized riding shorts I bought in Hawaii a few years back. Forgot I had them! No tears on those pair!
