You really need to start using a bucket, trash bag, backpack, or something to put the small pieces of metal in. I am noticing a trend of people putting metal next to roadways and you should show cops and other people doing the same thing that you are responsible. I know you guys say that you are going to pick up everything but realize most people will not. It is better to do your due diligence now before they start banning magnet fishing on bridges.

@Cara Corriveau DB Cooper hijacked a commercial passenger plane with a bomb threat, demanded $200,000 and a couple of parachutes to let the passengers go. Plan landed passengers were let go and the stuff was put on board. Plane took off, Cooper jumped out of the plane mid-flight and was never found. Jimmy Hoffa was President of the Teamsters Union and was convicted of organized crime. He disappeared and is considered to have been killed by the mob. The two cases are some of the highest profile unsolved crimes in American modern history.

So a fun fact place I grew up has a river running straight through the middle of it, and my father used to always make jokes that the "skeletons" in the closet of the town were in the river. I never believed it until someone found a disposed of Lee Enfield .303 in the river in a tarp that was weighted down with a few rocks. It wasn't found with a magnet, however, it was found during low tide when someone hooked onto the tarp with a fishing line and pulled a chunk of it to shore. The water was calm enough and shallow enough to wade out and swim to it. It's amazing how much the water can hide dark history.

The first thing you pulled up is a firefighter wrench. Used for opening and closing Hydrant valves and tightening hose couplings. A hose clamp is also a tool that firefighters use for laying hose. But what you pulled up first was a hydrant wrench for sure.

Just found this vid. The wrench you found is a fireman's combo hydrant wrench/spanner wrench. Hydrants use a 5 point nut on the top and the caps of the side. the wings off the ends are used to tighten down hoses onto the treads of the hydrant or other hoses if loose. Cool find, weird its in the water.
