If I've learned anything from watching these videos it's that Americas river systems are made of 12% gun.

Jeremy! I keep telling Britt this too: you should have business cards made for your channel! You can then pass the card along with the property so that if/when owners get that stuff back they can contact you, let you know and thank you. I think a lot of people, especially someone like this officer, would want to say thanks (& you would get the rest of the story!)! 😄

I was an OSI Agent!! That is a blast from the past! I carried those credentials. AFOSI agents serve to investigate DOD personnel, be it civilians or active duty military.
I’m always curious about whether any of the guns found have helped solve any crimes.
@allbies
8 ай бұрын
Even if they haven't, it's possible they could in the future. Seems a lot more crimes could be solved if the funds and training for river searches were more available at the time they happen.
The guy was fortunate that those credentials were stolen and not lost. Losing them comes with a very hefty fine of $2,000 (currently).

@@mailboxxy No, there was a police investigation so he reported them stolen, not lost. That is an important distinction.
That was a Bersa Thunder 380 CC handgun. While Bersa is not a horrible gun, it is not the quality you'd expect an govt agent to carry
OSI, wow brought back memories of the day two OSI agents showed up where I was working. They wanted to make an appointment to interview me about a buddy from high school. Asked a bunch of personal questions about his character. Found out a few years later he worked in the SR71 program out of Beal AFB. Very cool find.

Security clearance background check. I put my neighbors though that once upon a time. One had a rental room on the top level of their house and it had changed occupants since I had last lived there. Met them on a trip home and they informed me that had given the nice agent a glowing review as pertains to my character. :)

Reminds me of when I took a job with the state police in a position that requires a security clearance with Homeland Security. People I hadn't seen or talked to in over a decade were calling me up to see if I was OK because LEOs kept calling them to ask questions about me.
OSI is the investigative unit of the USAF, similar to NCIS in the Navy and US Army CID
My husband was AIr Force...OSI and photographer during Vietnam...he is deceased now but sure enjoyed seeing a badge as he carried. And yes..he too carried a pistol.

Great find Nug !!! And you absolutely did the right thing by turning it in. Now some open details to a case can be closed up or at least answered. That agent will be super stoked to have them back. I’m anxious to hear/know if that .380 was the agent’s as well or just a random toss. Let us know if you can. Stay safe out there !! 👊🏻

I doubt it was the agents issued gun, its a Bersa Thunder, a decent but kind of discount Argentinian pistol. You'd expect the FBI to be carrying something other than a Bersa. Also it was first made in 1995 while the badge and ID were from 91

Really cool stuff you found there, especially that old bottle. Your "bell" looks like the bottom of an old style street light and the badges are Air Force OSI, like the Navy's NCIS, not FBI.

What i find is funny is, OSI, NCIS, and CID all share 1 office building as their headquarters, the Russell-Knox Building, with a common break room. their break room is... a dunkin donuts. in the center of the building.

Wow! That is so awesome to find those IDs and gun, and get them back to the owner. Crazy stuff right there! Way to go!!’ Love watching you all dive and recover!
This was an awesome dive and recovery. Thank you for returning the badges. It says a lot about your character. You ROCK!
I don't know anybody that would give that stuff back that is so great of you guys.
I'm not sure if anyone has commented on this video. That is a US Air Force OSI (Office of Special Investigations) badge and credentials. They are actually Federal Agents (not the FBI) They are just like NCIS for the Navy or CID for the Army. I spent 20 years in the Military police rating in the Navy and worked with many of these Federal Agents in my time.
Love a follow up on the badges
So not FBI. They are AFOSI badges. Air Force Office of Special Investigation. Air Force criminal investigators. Like the Army CID. Navy NIS.
It amazes me what kind of old stuff you find. You're an honorable man and always return things you can. Great video! Stay safe and take care.
Need to change the name of the video. It’s not an FBI badge. It’s an Air Force Office of Special Investigations (OSI) badge. Although the badge was designed after the FBI badge and the first commander of OSI was an FBI agent Joseph Carrol.
You did the right thing by turning those in. What a weird find. Not every day you find an FBI badge
Wow! That was an awesome find! Guns, ID'S, etc. y'all have found and continue to find and it's cool. But someone's badge and credentials is a one in a zillion type find. The bottle that Britt found completely intact was an awesome find too. Even some of the newer bottles have chips and/or cracks. Keep up the great work! Godspeed

I'd think it was either unrelated to OSI ID, or it was a personal weapon. OSI would carry a real firearm in a caliber able to cause serious harm.

@@ryanbolek9975 They're literally filmed on the job all the time or at least, they're supposed to be filmed on the job. They have to wear body cams all the time but they like to throw away their body cams or delete the footage. Also, a cop telling to someone to turn the camera off even when it's not interfering with the investigation whatsoever is illegal as fuck in my state. Hell, it's illegal in the USA. Meaning that cop was breaking the law and being really sketchy. Besides, he should be used to being recorded on the job. He's supposed to have a body cam on at all times during the job.
That really interesting!! Special Agents usually don’t lose their badges!
Shadows and wind. You've come along way..
that badge and credentials are from an OSI agent. OSI stands for Office of Special Investigations. they are typically active duty air force and are kinda like the FBI of the Air force. they handle everything from criminal investigations within the military to background checks. they even do intel gathering overseas and state side. i have had dealings with them several times while in the service. some good, some bad, lol. mostly good though.
It’s always nice to see somebody get their property back.👍

Really cool find. What could be the story behind those badges. Those weren't put in a tin box and thrown in he river "for fun". Hope it'll solve something. Nice going Jeremy! 👌
@michaelgarrity6090

It was probably the retired agent had his badges stolen in a burglary and when the thief or thieves took a look in the box and found the badges and credentials, tossed them off the bridge since this was something they could not readily or safely sell. You can be sure, the agent will be glad to get his or her badges back.
