Repairing The Inmotion RS Rear Tire

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Hi everyone,
i apologize for taking long to load up this video that i did on Saturday 2/24/2024.
anyways, in this video i show you how to patch up a flat on the inmotion RS original Factory tire that by my surprise is NOT a self healing tire.
i hope you find the video useful though there were some parts i left out due to my camera running out of memory and having to pr load footage to my pc to make space on the memory card again.
here is the link to all the products i used in the video.

Changing tubless tires is easier with three hands if its your first time. Yes glad you mentioned a hand pump or electric pump wont work airing up the tire. I used a compressor set at 125 psi . I will slways choose split rims and tubes over tubless. I bet you will never complain about a shop charging $80 to change a tire 😅 great information in the video.

@Alan-pk4qu thank you. Yeah i wish i had an extra pair if hands to help. Lol! I did change my tires both the front and rear to self healing tires. This time with better equipment like a jack stand with a hole in the middle for being able to put the bolt thats on the wheel through there helped get the tire off the bead and i also ised this gel grease stuff called Bead Buster which was an even bigger help to out the new tires on the rim along with rhe ziptie method and that there was a HUGE help. My difficulty level from changing the tires this time went from a 10 which was hard to a 6 which is moderate but can be done lol.

I know that I'm late watching this video, but I feel your pain brother. I went through the same process, but with a different scooter. I did find an easier way to do put the tubeless tire on the rim with little to no need for zip ties. You will need to use the swing arm of your scooter. If anybody has seen the tire change for dualtron rims, that's where I got the idea. The trick is to put the tire back on the rim partially, then install the motor back on the swing arms with the lock washer and nuts hand tightened, after that you will use one of your tire spoons to make a fixed point for tire to be nudged into the motor and finally with the other spoon guide the tire into place while rotating the tire by hand. You won't scratch up the paint but you will sweat a bit. Mind you I did that by myself on a Blade GT(same 11 inch tires) it is manageable solo.

Pongo la llanta viejita o la de relleno duro en el piso y ahí trabajo, no sobre una mesa, que es complicado con la presión que necesitas poner. Mis hijos me ayudan con sus pies a pisarla, también. Most people would have already thrown the wheel and tire over the fence out of frustration haha. Great walkthrough though. Ive seen it but i havent had a chance to test it out. But i have heard good things about the 72 volt 35 Amp hour battery model, the only bad thing i heard is the charge time is really slow because the company sends you a 2 amp charger which can take about 25 hours to charge the battery from 0 to 100% or you can purchase the fast charger for an extra charge and have the scoorer charge in about 7 hours. I do like the split rim idea for the tire changing. It makes it easier. It's still challenging to get the rim edge off, but nowhere near as bad as my RS 😅

After that, you need the put your foot on the edge of the rim and put the spoon at 12 oclock, and the other one at 3 oclock, some zip ties at 6 and 9 and you are good to go. I recommed put the self healing tires, because the regulars are shit. Good luck my friend, good content by the way, and i what a shame the paint of that rim

Oh, that's definitely not good. Can it spin freely while the scooter is powered off? If not, then the motor may be defective, or the caliper may have the rotor/disc locked in place or if it does spin freely when the scooter is powered off, the polarity of the wiring inside the motor may have been wired wrong at the factory and will need to be exchanged or replaced by inmotion. I just took a look at my wiring and noticed that there is only one direction it can be installed. I wish i could be of more help.

It just makes it easier to remove and reinstall the motor/wheel back on without having to worry about bending the brake disk trying to cram it back into the brake caliper. The brake pads on this scooter can easily get misaligned, which can cause uneven wear to the pads. However, I'd recommend that you work on your scooter in the easiest way you can work on it, so if you can fully repair a tire, etc, without removing the fender and brake caliper, then go for it. just be kind to share any knowledge you have on KZread so others can get the help they need for these scooters. @bdog7262 yeah its working good. I did noticed a bit of lag on the thumb throttle but only once by battery goes down to 60% so like if i press on the thumb throttle from a full stop, it definitely moves but if i slow down behind a car during traffic riding at like 30+ the thumb throttle does take a second or two to start moving the scooter while on that speed. But it only happens around 60% battery life. 😁👍

Bullets holes in the table if you have the money invest in motocyle jack with the hole in the middle . 😆 first time always the hardest.

@TheRomabull that is definitely a tough choice because both scooters are excellent! It's too bad you can't test ride both and get a feel for each one and then get the one that feels the most comfortable to you. Its one of the reasons i chose the RS. The Deck and handlebar stem height adjustability is what one me over. Once i did more research on it, i then found pur about the Massive battery it has for long range. The Nami Burn E is also an incredible scooter what an awesome design.

@@THEAVERAGEGUY1983 that average guy song is stuck in my head . Thanks man haha . Is that midnight version charging port different or more water resistant then the yellow version

@TheRomabull 😁👊 it is i deed different than the Gen 1 yellow one. I know Inmotion is now changing all the charging ports like the one i have now. As for water proof, im not 100% sure. It does have a Silicone plug that covers the charging ports but you have to make sure its covering the ports right to give it a seal. Once the main cover is on. So i think it is. I know Ginger on wheels did a video on water proof testing the RS recently so hopefully his RS doesnt get any rust or charging port issues.

How are you going to balance it? You need to use equalizer.. keep the crap in it.

Unfortunately you can't on this type of motor. Usually, you can put little wheel weights on the inner part of the rim while having the scooter on a jack stand. The trick is to spin the scooter wheel slowly and see which direction the scooter tire goes and where ever it stops add a weight to the opposite side so the scooter wheel doesn't start to spin the opposite way. It's a little hard to explain, but im going by some videos i seen but it doesn't look all the great on the ones that i seen. So im hoping whenever i change the tires to the new self-healing ones, i dont have the same issue. 😅
