Shocked and totally amazed that it now works after following the video. So proud of myself for repairing, instead of replacing, my remote. I used rubbing alcohol, Qtips and tissue to clean and dry all the surfaces. Thanks for the great video !!

After I opened it which was horrible experience I put it back together and it doesn't work. Thankfully I have a spare but it sucks, I wanted to clean it, which I achieved but it doesn't work now 🙃

Danger, my remote was glued, ...... so had to glue it together again.

The remote without screws is normally welded shut or some kind of glue. You can see it when you break it apart. I put 6-8 small drops of cyanoacrylate glue along the edge to hold it together. There are no tabs and it's really not intended to be opened but it works.

even if a replacement is cheap, its much more satisfying to fix it than buy a new one - and you're helping the environment by reducing waste - the usual difficulty with these things is finding how to get them apart, which is why videos like this are so useful .....

Worked on my Samsung Remote - opened it for the 1st Time since 13 years or so.

Great video. My remote went for a swim through the washing machine. I blew a hair dryer into it for 10+ minutes, but no luck. With the video, I was able to open the remote and found the contacts and membrane were still very wet. After drying them off, the remote was back up and running like new - and it even smells like fresh laundry and lavender now! Thank you!

Thanks! My Samsung remote actually had a small screw that had to be removed first (accessible from inside the battery compartment) but the rest of the procedure was very similar.

Our remote had stopped working after only a year. Had thrown it away after fiddling with it for an hour. Went on Amazon and put a new one in my cart (only $8) then I thought, "quit being a lazy ass" so I dug the remote out of the trash and got to work. It wasn't easy to pry it apart, I didn't have a guitar pick so I (carefully) used a paring knife. Took a couple minutes but I got it apart, separated all the pieces, wiped them down with a sliiightly damp cloth, reassembled and it works like new. Thank you =)

Thank you! Dropped my remote on the wood floor. Used propylene glycol from my humidor to clean, put back together and the remote works again.
