Rep. Porter Plays "JeoparDOD" to Expose Waste at the Pentagon

Each year, lawmakers and defense lobbyists play the same game, pouring hundreds of billions into the Pentagon without scrutinizing every dollar-and it's taxpayers who lose. Rep. Porter invited witnesses to play JeoparDoD, to win oversight for the American people.

She has my vote too. @Kimberly you are so right. I wish there was some way Katie & her brain trust staff could go through so much more AND get it fixed. It’s funny how the GQP can ‘find’ money to pad their rich friends’ wallets; however, when the public asks for a national healthcare plan, the GQP scream, rant, & rave about it being a socialist program that’s UnAmerican. Of course they also claim the country is too broke. In other words, 1: we shouldn’t make certain our veterans are properly cared for even though these brave men & women volunteered to join our military; they signed up to give their all, even their lives to protect this country. 2: politicians are the only ones who deserve the best healthcare, not US citizens who live paycheck to paycheck, often working without ANY health insurance because they can’t afford the premiums & they certainly can’t afford to pay out of pocket. 3: the GQP scream at the top of their lungs that national healthcare is socialist. It’s not! It isn’t the definition of socialism. The UK is a democracy. Their citizens pay a little higher taxes; however, they don’t have to fear going to the doctor because they can’t afford the visit. Healthcare for all would drastically reduce the number of citizens becoming disabled bc they couldn’t afford healthcare.

Also the DoD provides tons of support to other countries. Albeit there have been terrible wastes and rash decisions, but there's a lack of oversight on spending because of the NEED. I have become educated sufficiently enough to know that we need more oversight but also we need a big budget. I will vote locally for people who share this mindset. I suggest you do that

We met the enemy and he is us. We ask for bases in our district to stay open. If you made a mistake and built billion dollar littoral combat vessels just admit it and scrap them, the real waste goes to military salaries, when they are not effective. It turns out,all this weapons we thought we so sexpensve, the Javelins $100K for the launcher $80 K for each missile,$80K for each Excaliber artillery shell, $40K for each HIMARS missile, $70 million for each F-35 but it turns out,all these years later, we were getting a bargain, it is the Russians and Chinese who get little for their defense dollars, so the pentagon, gave us great value for our money. look at all those Russian tanks with their currents flying, money well spent.

Please stop using the “we need to spend to protect from Russia and china” excuse Russia can’t even take a country the size of texas and china lacks the logistic capability to wage war on any one east of the Indian Ocean. I LOVE love LOVE that Katie Porter uses entertaining and engaging ways to spank and educate those that are failing their constituents or America on the whole. If only we could fill all of the seats with like minded thinkers we could really get all of the messes in these United States cleaned up and have a truly efficient and effective government. The is the best!

America needs more elected officials like Rep. Porter. She is not afraid to call out greedy p***ks .

In fairness, a lot of this stuff probably frustrates them, too. But in a broken system, it’s easier to be most frustrated by whatever is not on their turf in a turf war.
