Ren usually puts the lyrics in the comments section of his songs. The automated KZread subtitles are rarely accurate, so if you want to know what he's saying, it is well worth finding Ren's official version. Have seen various reactors comment on lyrics/bars they've convinced themselves they've heard, but are not really like the actual lyrics.

Great reaction! Ren doesn't miss. To see another side of him, check out his band, The Big Push, doing , "I Shot the Sheriff/Road to Zion/Hip Hop' (not the video of only I Shot the Sheriff. Look for the video w/all 3 names & Ren in red suspenders). I guarantee you'll love it. Ren singing like crazy, electric guitar, rapping, everything. And the other members are incredible, too.

Here's a few more Easter eggs that get missed, I think. Watch as Ren crosses the street. The crosswalk countdown hit zero just as he stops and goes into the "Pirates" bars. Then, consider that he released this track on Pi-day 3.14 or March 14th. Then, as he is paying homage to all the great "old-school" artists, he looks to his left as a school bus passes by. Finally, halftime was the 5th song on the Illmatic album. Like halftime on the album. Rens retake was exactly half the time of the original...

I'll throw in a couple too, the brass horns you here back in the mix a little bit, are from the original song, Nas put them in there as a shout out to his dad, a jazz and blues musician originally from Mississippi, Ren left them in for the first half, and right when he stops after the crosswalk, they're replaced by those crunchy rock guitar riffs, which is Ren on the guitar, and I'm sure his way of putting his subtle stamp on modern hip hop. When Ren goes into what things would be like without Ren in rap, is a direct nod to Big L, he even uses a few of the same lines from one of his tracks. Big L was on the come up at the same time as Nas, but was shot and killed over some gang ish his brother was involved in, in 1999, after only releasing one album. His 2nd album was released posthumously, using a bunch of stuff he'd already recorded along with a ton of East Coast rappers that were big at the time, doing a verse in different songs, with Big L's already recorded tracks. Nas once said in an interview, years later, that Big L was the only rapper that ever scared him and made him question if he was good enough to make it to the big time, after hearing Big L freestyle at the Apollo Theatre. The song on the tribute album was called "The Big Picture (Intro)"....... "What's this motherf**kin' rap game without L? Yo, that's like jewels without ice That's like China without rice Or the Holy Bible without Christ Or the Bulls without Mike Or crackheads without pipes"
