24:54 - Oh...oh fuck. I totally forgot about that one time Will Smith dressed up as a belly dancer to sexually entice a legless evil villain from the old west. Actually, no...I don't think I forgot. I still remember so much of this movie EXCEPT this one scene, I must've wiped it from my memory because of how stupid it was.

Why did this movie happen? Listen to Kevin Smith's "Superman Lives" video and learn just how insane Jon Peters is and how obsessed he was over a giant spider.

I’m really surprised that they didn’t bring up the image of that rock formation that looks like a middle finger flipping off everyone who watched this movie, that appeared at the end of the movie just before West and Gordon ride off into the sunset on that giant mechanical spider.

The person who directed this was also the director of the crappy (attempted)Superman movie with Nicholas Cage. Kevin Smith actually talks about it in an interview and talks about how the director didn't want Superman to fly, have the red outfit, wanted a gay R2-D2 as Brainiacs friend(or in Supermans fortress, I don't remember), have Brainiac fight polar bears when he searched for the Fortress of Solitude ("they're the deadliest killers of the animal kingdom!")and also have a giant spider as the final fight that Superman does ("they're the most deadliest killers of the insect kingdom!")

Some random fact I learned a while back about Wild Wild West (that I may have mis-remembered) was that South Park: Bigger, Longer and Uncut and Wild Wild West both came out on the same day. South Park did do very well but Wild Wild West beat it in the box office, only because a lot of underage kids snuck into South Park after buying tickets for Wild Wild West.

Despite enjoying his work on the film, Ted Levine admitted that the film's storyline was all over the place due to the constant changes of the script and attributed this along with Will Smith's casting to the film's failure. S.S. Wilson and Brent Maddock admitted that it wasn't the film they were hoping for due to the constant scriptwriting changes without their knowledge. Kenneth Branagh self-deprecatingly joked that his accent in this movie might be the worst American accent performed by a British actor.

Barry Sonnenfeld had a lot of problems with Jon Peters' Executive Meddling, but he particularly had a problem with the scene where Will Smith dresses up as a harem dancer to distract Loveless. He said if he had more clout at the time, he'd have walked from the film at that point. I never wanted to see Will in drag. I thought it was prurient, unnecessary, silly and in there only because Peters loved it and refused to let us take it out. We really lose the audience from there till the end of the movie because of the stupidity of that weird harem dance. I cringe every time I think about it. Until the dance, it's a good scene. Loveless is scary, and the audience believes that he's going to take over America. But then it's like, "Oh wait a minute, I'm gonna forget all that because there's a harem girl who I didn't invite - I’ve no idea how she got here - but boy she's sexy, and who wants to take over America when there's a girl in a green harem outfit next to me?" It. Made. No. Sense.
