My family still references the octopus's line "Hey, boss, it's Lenny! He was wearin' a disguise so we wouldn't recognize him. But now he's not wearin' a disguise, so we do recognize him!" for fun. Honestly we still kinda enjoy this movie.

Another thing I thought was clever is that Oscar is a bluestreak cleaner wrasse and works at a car wash, because they're known for cleaning larger animals. It's also clever that it's a buddy movie between him and a shark, as wrasses in the real world travel on sharks to eat vermin on them, and so sharks won't get irritated.

@@billygreci9739 to be fair, I've learned that from The Magic School Bus in an episode where Ms. Frizzle turns her class into various sea creatures, one half into one species and the other into a species that are known for staying around them for survival, but then I looked it up. Then I saw Scheaferillaz's look at the film, and found out Oscar is indeed a bluestreak cleaner wrasse, and I thought "Okay film, you've earned a point.

Honestly, the puns with the Hollywood stars made me laugh as a kid.

I was so dissapointed that Doug didn't mention on of the most traumatizing children cartoons of all time "Watership Down". Watching a bunch of cute rabbits suddenly ripping each other apart or that scene where they are stuck underground and are slowly suffocating. That shit scarred me for life as a child. 😱

@@MovieFan1912 yeah, it's called The Rabbits of Watership Down and it's just a dull movie following the rabbits as they reach their new home and the big rabbit complain for half the movie (first about how slow it takes the one female rabbit in their group to dig their new home all on her own because he sees that as something only she should have to do and then complaining when he and the rest of the male rabbits start helping her so it gets finished faster). And that's pretty much the whole movie

It was when Shrek 2 came out... A far superior animated comedy!

As a child the only Courage episode that TRULY haunts me... Is the Weremole episode where Muriel gets bit and transforms. I could somewhat handle EVERY other episode as a child in the show, except that one.

If I am being honest here. I actually do enjoy this movie. It may not be "The Best" Dreamworks film, but really do enjoy it.

@@augumon05 my biggest problem with the 2nd film was the villain drago was boring and his plan was just came off as the same old tired “i wanna take over the world” plan I mean grimmel is no thanos but his interactions with hiccup are very entertaining including that scene where he sneaks into hiccups room at night and taunts him about his dad something drago could’ve done considering he killed him but no he walks away as toothless is about to kill him what’s wrong with you

To me 3 wasn't bad, but it's the one that infuriates me the most. With 2 it was what it was. There weren't too many ways to improve it without changing a bunch of what it was about. But 3 had so much untapped potential. The dragons overcrowding Berk is brought up at the start of the movie . . . and then never talked about again. The villain's plan is stupid, it relied on the white dragon returning to him with Toothless which only wound up happening because Hiccup went and got him. That's a real let down for a guy who seems to basically be an evil Hiccup that enters the movie by (as far as we see) killing a dragon. And the villain refers to the Light Fury as his favorite bait meaning he's done this multiple times before so she would know exactly what's coming. What makes her keep coming back to him? Why didn't she come back this time? The movie was fine, but it could have, and should have, been so much more. And I kind of hate it for that.

Long story, short: Shark Tale is a cinematic piece of s#@$.

The reason why I found this movie good, is because It was my introduction to dreamworks and later Pixar. As for the cowardly dog, surprisingly speaking and no capping here, I actually found it unbelievably funny. Then again that also shows how messed up my sense of humor is comparing to almost everyone else.

Not gonna lie this movies a guilty pleasure of mine, it’s not the BEST DreamWorks movie, but I still enjoy it

That awkward moment when you realize two actors from The Sopranos are in this. Michael Imperioli (Chris Moltisanti) as Frankie. And Vincent Pastore (Pussy Bonpensiero) as the Octopus. The latter is even more strange when you remember how Season 2 ended.

Flapjack is full of so much nightmare fuel. I always remember the one where they dressed up flapjack as a dog to trick a old woman to get the reward and flapjack is trying to escape before she can take "her dog" to get neutered.

I love this movie and I will not apologize

Well look at Will Smith now:He slapped a man and lost most of his future career projects.

I remember watching this movie on DVD when I was a kid. Mostly I was oblivious to it. I wasn't cringing or guilty pleasure on it, the movie just existed for me. The only thing I can say is like Blues Bros. 2K the movie has no redeemable value but it's has a pretty solid soundtrack. I honestly listen to it on my playlist when I want to relax every now and then.

Madagascar franchise, HTTY franchise, Kung Fu Panda franchise, Rise of the Guardians, The Cross franchise, those are some of my favorite Dreamworks films. This is okay, but it's not in the same category.

Who was Will Smith from "The Pursuit of Happyness" up against for the 2006 Oscar? (looks it up) Oh! Ohhhhhhh....I'm sorry, Will. You were great, but he won, fair and square.

I can definitely see as an adult how ungracefully this movie aged. Honestly though, it's not what I'd consider the bottom of the barrel for Dreamworks, let alone one of the worst animated disasters of the 2000's. It's a solid C-movie at best for me, animated kids' junk-food one can turn their brain off at for 91 minutes. And I remember having a blast with it as a 13 year old boy. Yes, the fishes' designs were uncanny, the plot formulaic, the dialogue often tedious, the fish puns tiresome, and so many of the references (even in 2004) painfully dated. Nonetheless, I had so much fun that it made up for the myriad flaws. I enjoyed multiple songs (especially "A Little Less Conversation, "Gold Digger" and the remixes of "Car Wash" and "Three Little Birds"). It was a decent soundtrack. Moreover, the film was funny on my first viewing. Of course, not all the jokes landed but I recall laughing hard at so many parts (Angie pretending to commit suicide when Oscar calls her his "best friend", Mrs. Sanchez dancing to "Ladies' Night", Oscar going from bragging about preparing to kill another shark to crying when the elevator doors close, Lola beating up Oscar, Lenny's corpse floating, etc). Even Oscar & Lenny themselves, as obnoxious as they could be, grew on me. Something about Will Smith's voice & personality just get me, whenever he goes comedic. He & Jack Black sound like they had fun with their roles, and I felt that energy between them at points. Overall, again, I fully acknowledge what a mess Shark Tale is in retrospect and have NO desire to re-watch it today. Regardless, I can safely say I'm one of those people with a soft spot for it.

The big problem the fish has Teeth which is wrong i can see why. Also their in sensative Stereotypes. Dreamworks, the creators of Road of el dorado...you should be watchibg that, songs by elton john

This movie’s a guilty pleasure for sure, although to be fair, I grew up watching the Spanish dub, and I remember laughing at it way more than with the English dub. It’s possible that the jokes were funnier in Spanish or something, who knows 🤷‍♀️

I wouldn't be surprised if that's the case. Sometimes, a dub does enough things different that it completely changes the quality of the movie/show for the better. It depends on how much the dubbing company is willing and allowed to change. My favorite example is the legendary English Dub of the Ghost Stories anime. The original dub in Japan was an uninteresting flop, so the dubbing company was allowed to do whatever the wanted with he material since the Japanese owners weren't expecting anything from it, so the dubbing company went nuts with it and made it one of the funniest anime ever. It was such an improvement that the Japanese dubbing company apparently even went back and re-dubbed it in Japanese to be more like the English Dub after it's success.
