So… I’m a fan of Deathmatch wrestling when appropriate. They need to hold them off to end a feud. However, he didn’t need to do this. I think Darby’s reasoning though, is he might not come back from Everest. Which is a REAL possibility. I think he wanted to do this because it may be one of his last matches. I appreciate his sacrifice. But damn… I don’t want guys killing themselves for a viral moment for the fans.

I'm old enough to remember a much simpler, better time in Wrestling. A time when Wrestlers grappled, and jockeyed for position. Where they held submission holds, didn't seriously hurt one another and it looked like a shoot. Now a days we have matches where it's the exact opposite. Now we have performers who go out to the Ring wearing jeans or mime makeup or wanna be stuntmen. They go out of their way to make it look as horrible as possible. By lightly kicking their opponent, or eating teeth out of a bottle while loudly saying what they'll do next, or jumping through the ropes and knocking 10 guys over. Now a days these performers dance around the Ring no selling anything while actually hurting themselves and others. But that's my long winded diatribe. Thank you putting up with my cranky old Man KZread complaining. 🙂

There were so many better ways to send the Stinger out with CLASS and STYLE and REASON than Darby hogging the limelight from start to finish. This kinda extends to AEW as a whole where, I forgot how Al Snow puts it but its all work but no reward. Or something like that. It's because they won't listen to the veterans. Arn Anderson and Jim Ross are excellent examples! The statement Hangman “I'm an unhappy d-bag at ALL times” Page has made in the past, goes on record with him saying ‘he as well as many others don't want or need the advise the veterans try to give them...that they can learn as they go, because they're basically just that good as the vets and times have changed anyway.’ (These are not Page's exact words but the gist of his sentiment-when he was asked by one of the *reputable* wrestling reporters; if he enjoyed having so many certified STARS i.e. veterans around, as resources for advice!) Trust me! I've watched AEW (up until the post CM Punk-era (i.e. late 2022-early 2023). These arrogant c--ksuckers want to do it their way and their way ONLY (the exception being the guys who were previously at the WWE & amazingly of Darby Allen-as he adored Sting, and they had a decent working relationship). And “Mark Numero Uno,” i.e. Tony Khan? He let's them have it their way, all day everyday...which is what is wrong with the company; as well as the other major issue if Tony not letting ANYONE ELSE handle booking other than busy, two care prior to a show. Oi!!!

Itll probably happen again somewhere in another month. People just don't know how to pop a crows without killing themself in a spot thats just not even special anymore. Its sad because Darby will be crippled and nobody will even remember what he did

In AEW they do as the fans have got used to big spots being a norm. So to get a reaction you need to do crazier and crazier things. Al Snow has talked about it how these ridiculous spots are killing the effectiveness of future spots to “pop” the audience and get a strong reaction.

@@sixxjr Some of the shit Foley did was absolutely crazy, but he didn't do it every match, or even he would be fully paraplegic by now. Foley had a pain threshold like no human being and he loved nothing more than pleasing the fans, in the orgs he worked in they did all that Japanese death match shit and Vader punching holes through people's heads. In WWF the flat back concrete bumps off the stage were wince inducing and of course the hell in a cell drop. I think Foley has gone on record many many many times that nobody should do the amount of bumps he did unprotected, for they don't want to suffer like him , of they live long enough. It's not like Foley was like yeah kid jump off that roof it'll be fine, he was the one you had to make sure wasn't doing it. Stop sanctioning these evil kinevil stunts, but then... It's not drawing the spectacle money 💰🤑 and that's what matters most, not Darby's health
