haha nnahhh... just doing my little part! Im glad you enjoy!
Woah this is crazy
Normal is a bit different to what you described. The resulting render pass is a combination of your meshes' surface normals and the texture normals you put onto them (and whatever you do in your shaders). It's basically a vector with 3 components, where x,y,z are represented in the r,g,b channels. That's why x is red, z is blue, etc.
10 Points. Thank you so much-
Thank you 🤘❤️🤘
muito obrigado por este video amigo.

Hi Jose awesome video, I was wondering if you know a way to remove the black ambient occlusion from the environment, so it just applies to an object and a shadow catcher. Thanks
dammit man, I really appreciate this valuable video thank you so much, Finally, I understand the (Render Passes) and how I can use them. and the most mind-blowing tip 41:20 🤩
Very useful tutorial man, also the shadow pass is removed in newer versions replaced by shadow catcher! any workaround for this?
Damn, i spent all this time manually exporting each pass without even knowing about this way. Thanks! Cant wait for the full tutorial on this artwork. Is it coming on marketplace7

Thanks! the tutorial is about creating 3d kits. this particular artwork is for promo purposes but im making another course that goes through creating images like this probably next month.
You can export all the render passes separately in the compositing nodes now. You just need a file output.
Hey jose, I have one doubt I saved my renedered as exr multilayered but it is not taking filmic colormanagment into consideration. do you have any suggestions on how I can render and save in exr with filmic colormanagment
Awesome video Jose! Some of this I learned from your Ancient Dungeon tutorial but there are so many extra good ideas here. I’ve been using a lot of stuff I’ve learned from your videos to level up from a strictly 2D approach to a mixed workflow. At the moment it’s taking me about 2-3 days to get to a final result including my 3D layout process. The results are good but it feels a little slow. Just wondering how long you give yourself to do a finished piece like the one in this video, not including the initial kit build, but from 3D layout to final painting?
@ArtofJoseVega
3 жыл бұрын
heyy great question.... well if i dont count the 3d kit and making the 3d scene.... so from the render to the final painting... it would be about a day or less..... most of the time is mostly creating the 3d kit and building the scene up
@Pneumanon
3 жыл бұрын
@@ArtofJoseVega Thanks for the quick reply. I'm trying to get down to a similar time. My last piece took about 1.5 days for 3D and just over 1 day for paint, but sometimes the 3D slows me down more. Looking forward to your courses!

Excuse me, I have a question which might be obvious but I still need to learn, the channels you paste the alphas in are the channels of the "Combined" render, right? Thanks 16:28 - 23:04 aces on the explanation btw, great job!

Where can I find the course mentioned in this video, specifically the one about creating this kit? I've seen it mentioned in a couple places, but none of your tutorials on artstation seem to match. I'd love to buy it if I could find it!

good tutorial but could you add shortkey button to show in preview whenever you pressing in photoshop. that would make beginners understand much better.
Hey, did you ever finish the tutorial you were making this image for? I can't find it on your Art Station or Gumroad. Has anyone else found it anywhere? Awesome video by the way. This was unbelievably helpful. I've subbed and will also be doing a deep dive of all your stuff. Thanks for posting!

@@ArtofJoseVega The tutorial was indeed on the Wingfox site and I've bought it, but all of the assets keep crashing Blender. I did Blenders benchmark tests on my rig and they were fine (I'm running an RTX 2080Ti and a Ryzen 9 5900x with 32G of RAM), and Blender and all of my addons are up to date, so I'm wondering if it's a problem with the asssets being old files. Any thoughts? I'm getting full pink screen but when I go through the External Data-Find Missing files route and then try to switch to Cycles view I get 'Blender is not responding'. Sad times =(
@rakutempo

Wondering if it's possible for you to save out all those old files again in .FBX format? Might that fix it?
@rakutempo

100% aware that I'm just talking to myself now haha! but on the off chance that you read this please ignore the above. I worked it out. I'm a bit of a noob and didn't know about appending .blend files. All is well. I'm very slowly working through the tutorial and sorting blender as I go but will one day tag you in a finished painting!
Hey what version of PS is this ? I like how the layers & everything is on the left side. Looks clean
@Outmind01

I don't think it has anything to do with the specific version as you can altern your workspace to look like you want it to by rearranging the windows.
Will those upcoming courses (3D kits creation, keyframe, etc.) be affordable like the prices of your Artststion products?
@ArtofJoseVega
3 жыл бұрын
Pretty affordable. They will be a bit more than what I have on artstation because they will have over 10 hours of narrated content. Plust the 3d kit. Etc. so you will def. get more.
When I import files with the extension you recommended, some tools like blending mode are disabled, Could you explain me please?
@ArtofJoseVega

Yeah, you have to go to image mode and change it from 32 to 16 or 8

So to some things up… render passes are pretty much used to make easy selections of certain things?? Shadows, mist, highlights, etc etc??? Have I understood this properly?

@@ArtofJoseVega could you just in a few words give some examples of what those other effects might be please? Also I am on a mac and opening exr’s just doesn’t want to happen. Is there an issue with exporting each pass as a tiff and converting them to smart objects? Or will that have the same affect (albeit in 16bit)? Appreciate the help. Your video taught me a lot 😊
