    On my 2005 Vivaro 1.9 TDI it looks a bit different, belt tensioner is a bit upper and don't have such good access to that.

    Warning DO NOT place the jack and/or jack stand on that area of the body work (sill)! It's made of very thin sheet metal, not in any form, shape or intention made to support the weight of the vehicle. In case of failure YOUR LIVE can be in danger and the vehicle will surely be damaged. In either case the video already show a damaged sill precisely from a poor location of the lifting gear! Place the jack and /or jack stand under structural elements, i.e. under the van! FYI In this case, the OEM location for the jack is a broad flat rectangular area. Just inside from where the jack stand is placed. Easily seen when kneeling beside the vehicle. Identical area is placed on the back for the same. Also when using a bottle jack(s) use a broad flat plate against the thin round face of the jack screw. To distribute and spread the weight. Tip: An old brake pad work perfectly and it's free of charge! ;-)

    I don't know which hole the Allen key slotted into as there is not one on my Renault trafic. Tried several times and the tensioner will not lock into place.

    I have 2008 Nissan primastar. Does it have chain or belt?

  • @crpth1

    @crpth1

    The 2.0 DCI has a timing chain. The older 1.9DCI has a timing belt. On the same sequence the serpentine belt for the 2.0 is a 7NPK... and the 1.9 is a 6NPK... Lengths vary with the equipment, with or without AC.

    I don´t know if I´m comfortable sharing *my size* here on KZread 🤔 Ah, oh you mean the size of the V-Belt?🤣 There is a difference depending on whether the car has air conditioning or not. It's been a few years, so I don't remember exactly, but for my car with air conditioning, it should be 2000mm with 7 ribs if I´m not mistaken

    How long does changing the belt typically take ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5 star video

  • @garagen-schrauber

    @garagen-schrauber

    3 жыл бұрын

    All in all about 2-3h, it depends on how good the wheel comes off, how fast you can find the hole to lock the tensioner and how much experience you have and so on. And you really shouldn't be in a rush because the new belt has to sit perfectly on the pulleys. Thank you for your 5 stars :)

    @@garagen-schrauberhi you seem to know your stuff…I have a Renault trafic 1.9 dci 100 2005 18 years old…..it has air conditioning and the pulleys etc are 6 grooves but the power steering pump is 5 grooves and has got a 5 groove belt……I have driven it since I got it two and half years ago…..never had a problem……took to a mechanic (he said he was) and had timing belt and water pump fitted only. Nothing else he refitted the old auxiliary belt back on and when I collected it it had developed a squeal on aux belt constantly day in day out all day for 11 months….it finally frayed on one groove….left hand side if looking into engine…wrapped round crank pulley and knackered the engine…..your thoughts please regards

    Hi Cliff, I haven't worked on this vehicle yet so I can't tell you for sure. In this thread here www.espace-freunde.net/forum/index.php/t/46724/ is is a discussion about putting on the belt, there are also some pictures with right and wrong. Maybe this helps you along. In general, I can give you the advice to look for the fitting belt with your engine code online, often there are also drawings of how the belt must be mounted. Here is an example: www.google.com/aclk?sa=l&ai=DChcSEwjCwuezn8_zAhWXt3cKHVkWDX8YABAtGgJlZg&sig=AOD64_26jmu2VWwMQNXzBB9GSrZd_4j_dg&adurl&ctype=5&ved=2ahUKEwihytazn8_zAhVEyKQKHXMhCl0Quxd6BQgBEIID
