Firstly you really need to know the original songs. This is my favourite Ren and Chinchilla, Raw and sheer perfection at reading each other's minds. It was Chinchilla's first busking session ever and she smashed it.

For me it’s one of their very best performances, I think it is simply stunningly well done. It would be impressive if it were done in a studio but done on the fly, busking makes it incredible.

This was Chinchilla's first ever busking performance after being encouraged to do so by Ren. So yeah you have been spoiled by their polished performances. Busking is just that, where they just go with the flow, and like any busking performance you do not have to stay and listen.

Yeah, I didn't know the songs either. For me this is fun to watch for the vibe and energy. Nothing to unpack - just really good performers having a good time.

I get it you're a lyricist. You love songs that make you think, and that portrays substance, but I love this video as I think it shows how great they are at busking. Chinchilla with her quirky ways and amazing voice. Then Ren mainly allowing her to shine whilst using the looper and creating on the fly. Pure genius, oh, and I quite like the songs as well just for the groove

Chinchilla was with Ren working on their other stuff when he suggested she tried busking. Chinchilla had never busked before and was reluctant to do it. After hearing this I checked out the originals, and this version is far better.

IMO, this is the best busking performance by Ren and Chinchilla. I wish more reactors would do this one. Thanks Izzy ❤

This was the first time Chinchilla ever busked, Ren dragged her out so quick she did not have time to put her hails on.

I agree on the lyrics, sonically I like the range and the harmonies.

Not the best? Heresy! 😂 Well, it was Chinchilla's first time busking, and kind-of-spur of the moment. Ren had been pushing at her for a while to come with him. Don't know how much they'd actually practiced, but they also seem to read each other's mind. (Chinchilla fans are Chilibeans 😊)

I think it shows off Chinnys voice and their natural chemistry. I guess if you’re busking you want to catch peoples attention with something they might know as well. We can’t all like the same thing and that’s ok😊

I'm not a big fan of these songs either but end up singing it in Ren and Chinchilla's style a few times a week. So while they are not soul stirring, it does stick to the ear.

This performance is popular with a lot of people, but it’s definitely my least from favorite Ren & Chinchilla, though I am able to appreciate it. Like you, I was unfamiliar with the original songs, so maybe that is part of it. As some others have pointed out in their comments, this was Chinchilla’s first ever time busking, and she says was really nervous, though I think her performance is fabulous. There’s a video on Chinchilla’s channel from this same busking session of them covering Marvin Gaye’s Sexual Healing which I absolutely love. I much prefer it to this mashup. I’d love to see a reaction to that one to hear your thoughts. And to be sure, their originals take the cake for me. Many thanks for your reactions; I thoroughly enjoy them. 😊

Popular songs by big name artists - it's just upbeat vibes to draw a crowd busking. I don't care about these songs, but still enjoy how they adapted and performed them. It's fun to hear and see them having a good time. And not bothered at at all that you didn't like it. By the way, they also did a cover of Sexual Healing at this busk and it definitely doesn't sound like Marvin Gaye.

I am not familiar with either song myself. I love listening to them having fun though. Think this might have been Chinchilla's first time busking. Ren talked her out there. It did seem lightweight to me, but maybe what Chinchilla was most comfortabke with. She and Ren also do Sexual Healing cover Marvin Gay

I love this arrangement, not really a fan of the originals Played it in the car for my other half who wasn't really interested in listening to Chincilla He enjoyed it so much he downloaded her latest album Horses for courses I guess

I suggest you check out Sexual Healing instead. The few songs they did on the street corner was Chinchillas only busking session ever. Ren somehow convinced her.

This is fully unrehearsed, unplanned and Chinchillas first time busking. Ren fighting the pedals playing up and one Roland cube for every output. "Sexual healing" from the same night is better after they warm up. Still better than Drake imo. 🙃
