In his recent interview with Justin Hawkins Ren explains that he thinks for the most part in terms of albums, even if they have not been released as such. So there is the Big Push Covers album, the current hip hop/ rap album, etc. The next album project will be more of a song led rock one. He sees the ‘Bard-core’ pieces - Hi Ren and Jenny & Screech as being separate from the album concept though. He seems to be up for strictly curated collaborations, and yes! he does all the mixing, and either directs or jointly directs the MVs. He says that he wants to film make in the future

The beat is from a UK techno/dance/pop hit song, "Losing it" where the words, "losing it," are the only lyrics which makes it perfect to rap over. Ren's "Humble (feat. Eden Nash)" is an original song that could easily (and should already) be a radio hit. "What You Want" is a dope Beastie Boys/old school hip hop homage. More Ren please sir!

I’ll add that his older track “Hold On” was pretty much tailor made to be a radio hit. It has a catchy chorus, but still goes deep, has guitar/rap/singing, and is uniquely Ren.

You can't apologize for being a "film nerd" and for pausing when it's the kinda breakdowns we come to expect from you these days bro. This video is super cool, all his videos are so creative. And yes I'm one of those to remember NKOTB, I remember being in like 5th grade and hiding the fact that I liked their songs at school and pretended to only listen to Metallica

The track I start my days with lately :) seeing he wants to remain an independent artist I don't think we will hear him on the radio any time soon but online he will be the biggest of our time

Breadth of Rens talent is breathtaking. Just when I think I know he makes another great track in a different style.

His references can go real old-school. He mentions Django Reinhart in The Hunger. Macbeth here in Losing It.

LOL...New Kids on the Block was my first concert. The thing about Ren that I have noticed is, he is taking pop culture from about 40 years and making something very new and different that reaches several generations.

Ren is an absolute genius. I'm SO in love with him. I can't wait to get his new CD after Oct 13. I ordered the Limited Edition one. I adore him. I will buy EVERYTHING he puts out

Humble and Ocean - great collab on both of those - Illest of our time - his new one Animal Flow - Genesis - Power - damn this boy has so many good songs and alot of them are 7 or 8 years old that no one heard. He is bringing some of them back and has 3 albums already (though good luck actually getting one they sell out in minutes!). Keep up the great reactions. Oh and if you want to watch him make a song during the video Jessica with Orlean is a great collab as well.

Ren is an everything type of artist.

I'm not one that's anti-pop. And you're right, I think to blow up, you have to play in the "pop" realm. I, however, don't think Ren does music like this one to blow up. Of course he wants people to listen to the music he makes, and the more the merrier. But I truly think he does stuff like this more as a homage, and for the fun of it. And you are certainly right - Ren has the ability, charisma and drive to get to the top of the pile.

I love this so much. He's no doubt EGOT material. He does it all phenomenally. Can’t rest for the rest of his story. Great reaction!

This has become a staple in my and my sons morning dance parties!!! I am addicted to Ren. I have figured out two things about him. 1. He is an alien (him and Chinchilla come from the same harmonica having planet) and 2. There are at least 5 Rens that I have seen.

I think he likes playing with different genres as a backing beat however I’m not sure how the owners of the beats would like him using their beats…the retakes are just fun … although the Verve retake was appreciated by Simon the bass player in the Verve as he sent Ren one of his base guitars … Fisher is an Australian EDM musician… I’d love for an EDM reactor to give their opinion on this genre bending creation… Ren is creating musical chimeras lol
