"He's the most unserious serious guy out there" - that might be one of the best descriptions of Ren's less-serious material I've seen so far. Even when he's not putting out music that's tackling huge, heavy messages - "just" engaging in wordplay and flexing - he's still putting out seriously impressive work. edit: also, I (and many others) have been WAITING for someone with EDM understanding to get to this song (idk, maybe there are others out there already but this is the first one I've found). Lots of reactors are confused af with the name Fisher in the video description, and it's often the first "retake" they see of his so since they don't recognise the name they have no clue what he's doing (taking someone else's beats and putting his own words on top of it). I've been interested to see what people who actually know the Fisher track think of what Ren's done to it. I mean, full disclosure - I don't know much about EDM myself, and have never heard of Fisher before this. I'm just interested to hear what people from different demographics think of what Ren's doing, and what extra bits of information they might be able to contribute to the conversation about his music. and finally - I'm pretty sure there's no such thing as a Ren song where he phones it in on the lyrics (including rhyme schemes, wordplay, and flow switches) 😉

I think he shares that quality with Eminem in many ways. Em can write great serious tracks like, Mockingbird and When I'm Gone, but then can hit you with songs and videos like Without Me. I think it is important too, to be able to show all those sides; to humanize yourself to your audience. That was what got me into Eminem originally. I didn't care for rap because I couldn't relate to what they were talking about, and it was (still is with so many rappers) this competition about how badass that are. Serious turn off for me - being one dimensional.

This is one of my Ren favs, it’s such a fun song with a shit ton of pop culture references; starts with a child’s nursery rhyme then goes into naming and showcasing directors, actors, characters, movies, songs, singers, sports figures, Tv shows… etc… So much packed into this retake! ♥️

Great reaction. It was "Squid game" btw 😂 he was wearing the tracksuit of the main character. Please keep on the 'Ren train' you will get sucked in so quickly! No such thing as a BAD Ren song/work of art. Also DEFFO do the FULL Jenny/Screech/Violet tales. This is one of my favorite Ren tunes. The amount of easter-eggs in this video are insane (movie/actor/entertainment). This video is just fun! He has two cameramen he utilizes, but he writes and produces his own stuff, of course this was Fisher who did the original track. He does a couple of other EDM "retakes/covers" ... *"Right here, right now ( Fatboy Slim one shot retake )"* ... and *"The Big Push - Praise You ( Fatboy Slim Cover )"* ... which is actually done by Ren's band *The Big Push* ... Also if you want another *"Fun"* video you should react to *"What you Want"* which is sort-of an homage to the Beastie Boys. As far as the tale of Jenny and Screech is concerned ... You have to do the *FULL* version *"The Tale of Jenny & Screech (Full)"* ... Great reaction ... I am a huge fan of EDM.

Yes i was really looking forward to this one, curious how you felt about his production skills specifically, since this is a track you know well and he did do some remixing to get a sequence of beat patterns he liked for his rap flow switchups. On original songs (the ones not labeled "retake"), he produces all his own beats. And you know, plays all the instruments, sings, raps, beatboxes...

Oh man, buckle up, and get ready to have your mind blown - Ren NEVER disappoints, and he dances around music genres like Fred Astaire. I look forward to watching more of your reactions to Ren's music.

Jenny & Screech (full) i the one you wanna watch. It's trilogy, Jenny's tale and Screech's tale were made pretty close together, but the third part Violet's Tale he did a couple of years later. That's why there's separate video's for each, as well as the (full) version, which is all three in one video. And yes, you wanna do all three together because it's a tale in three parts, and you deffo wanna experience the full tale in one go

You've gotta do the full video with all 3 stories. It is incredible.

Ren - Losing it is amazing taking the original Fisher EDM beat and mixing it up and spitting flows over it added a muchly needed lyrical make-over for that great beat.

I love this track And for the love of all that is holy please don’t do the tales separately - it’s pretty important to fans to see if you get the twist or not 😂 splitting them up makes us quite impatient and it also makes it harder for you to tie it together.

Spot on wiht the comment 'Ren's the most unserious serious guy out there'. I have thought that too - his songs tend to have me laughing out loud or have a tear in my eye... nothing in between!

This is one of the songs on his new album which was just released yesterday. I can't wait until mine comes. I will be CRANKING this song in my car. This is by far my favorite Ren song. And the funny thing is, ... I've never ever been in to rap. But I'm OBSESSED with his rapping. OMG I love him.

Squid Game is the show you're thinking of. I think it's a direct homage from Ren (he's wearing the same track suit as the main character from Squid Game during the "Red Light, Green Light" part of the song.

The full Jenny and screech has three tales back to back. Bardcore. Ren's own genre. Noone is in his lane.

I'm glad you watched this! most of the reactors haven't a clue who Fisher is, so they don't fully understand what he has done here. isn't it fab? definitely the full 13 video for the tales. despite only saying it's Jenny and Screech, it's actually 3 songs, Violet's tale is at the end. When you watch it, pay attention to the the names, the ages and the hints of their backgrounds. one thing you can't know when watching the combined video is that Jenny & Screech were released together, and Violet's tale released several years later, to expand the story.

I would alse dearly love to hear your expert opinion on what he did with the production in Genesis and Power. A lighter touch than Animal Flow, but still complex and interesting to me. And Power was produced purely for the fun of it, a celebration of getting free of his management, created and released all in one week. (Also his throwback sound in What You Want might be a blast for you!)

You are right. I googled it now.Thank you for correcting me. I am Portuguese and the EDM term for me it's kind of recent. Only started to hear the term very recently ☺️ but I listen Drum n' Bass for over a decade and what I associate with EDM is artists like Calvin Harris, Vini Vici etc. and that's a completelly a different vibe compared to Drum n'Bass. But Well, always leaning....thank you once again 🙏💫
