Ren often likes to throw back to other songs he has made. In this one you have Screech who kills a pacifist (Ren wrote the song so he also kills a pacifist). Asks a questions and answers it is a call out to Hi Ren, immediately after the lyric there are 2 REN’s one in white and one in black. Then he calls himself a Heretic (another Ren song), and he mentions Swanton Bomb which is a call back to the same line in Losing It.

It's almost like self-promotion. Just look what you just did. You explain to people how freezes he uses and words reflect and direct to other tracks. I mean there's no other reason for him to do that except for self-marketing because no one knows those other tracks unless they've gone down that rabbit hole right? What do you think the pig stands for because I think it's definitely a symbolic. Hi Ren isn't really going to be a radio hit if you know what I'm saying. I mean to be honest that video is necessary to give the words the due. Imagine if you just heard that track on radio. No internet or nothing but just straight radio in a car with no playlist. That track wouldn't do well because everything that makes that freakin song so dope is the drama or I guess the show.imo. he should try to release some original things with big push these days. I said chalk outlines will get award. I know it's a little old but if it's been re-released than is still eligible for a year right? That track repair should definitely get him in the Grammy nomination talk at least. But you know it's crazy in USA. A movie or song has to come out within a certain time frame in order to get nominated that year. It could just be releasing it in a little different aspect to re-release. Chalk outlines is at least one year

@@Hope...M Really interesting idea about self promotion! The pig is sorta answered in Animal Flow (REN’s Orwellian Animal Farm in a Kubrick Style). He represents not just the pigs (Snowball and Napoleon) but what the pigs stand for in the book. Good intentions corrupted and human nature. Funny you bring that up about Hi REN not being radio playable. Ren said a bit ago that he was surprised when it was at like 14 on Spotify. He said that he always assumed that song was married to the video. As much as I like Chalk Outlines, I personally feel that How to be Me is even better.

the pig i believe represents Rens subconscious voice in his head from Hi Ren, the negative voice the demon that trys to pull him down he always shows up when ren talks his shit! When hes flexing on rap skills he turns into the pig butcher side of his conscious

Knowing him to be an independent artist I am ultra stoked that he is not only reusing costly props from video to video, but that he is making the usage thematic and properly contextual. Independent artists operate on a shoe string compared to the big labels. And here's Ren offering us yet one more example of how an artist not only doesn't need the big labels, but they make it big on their own giving a clear "F.U." to the "industry" at the same time. He dissed 'em hard in "Hi Ren" and in "Animal Flow" too. Love it. The "industry" would not condone or promote such as Ren produces. Silly tw*ts. Blessings.

Wow dude that is Powerful for you too share about your anxiety and since the beginning of me watching you coming on a few years now you have hidden that well and never thought you was going through something like this. Many people don't realise that you can get physical symptoms with Anxiety disorders, many times now my chest feels crushed in and I thought I was literally about too die. I had to go through this soo many times before I realised I need help and there's nothing worse than trying to explain to the Doctors something they can't see and what is happening. I don't have a medical certificate or anything like that but having mental health for the last 20 years I can tell you if you can try too avoid the medication you will be doing yourself a huge favour in the long run because when my medication got too highest dose and I maintained that dose for many years I came away with far more problems than I started out with and far worse and it took this for me too seek alternatives and like you mentioned meditation is one incredible tool and very effective. It was moving too hear you talk about it especially on a Ren video because he is my favourite artist not only because his music is amazing but also he shares his problems with us and it feels like you have a huge community of support for people with mental health and im thinking if he can push on and you can push on despite these problems then I can do it myself too. I know your busy and don't expect a reply but if you see this I want to wish you all the luck to you and your family and remember when you are feeling at your worst just remember in that moment it is only temporary and push on.

You should listen to a few of his "normal" tracks...and I say that loosely because there's definitely nothing normal about Ren's music. Check out Life is Funny, Heretic, Everybody Drops, Chalk Outlines, and How To Be Me for a more "standard" sample of his music. You said you're doing Humble next and that one is really dope! I think if any of his songs would be a pop radio hit, it would be that one.

A running theme throughout Ren's music has been speaking out against greed in a capitalistic society and I believe that the pig represents that. Animal Flow seems to confirm that. Some people have thought that it was just directed towards the health care / mental health care industry specifically but I don't think so. I saw another comment that said it was directed towards the music industry but I don't think that's correct either, especially not after watching his interview with Justin Hawkins. If we believe Ren to be telling the truth in his interview regarding his experience with the music industry thus far then it would not make any sense for him to single out that one industry in particular. I think it makes more sense to look at all of Ren's music and consider him more of an "anti-capitalistic pissed off rebel" speaking out against greed in general.

I counted once. I think he switches flows like 12 times just in this one song.
