    Another great one Izzy. King Author was searching for the Holy Grail and they ended up at the dark woods. As you said, he thought it wouldn't be right for them to enter as one unit. Each Knight entered where he felt the woods were the darkest. The meaning is that in order to make changes in the world we must first face our personal darkness. Jordan Peterson speaks to this quite often. Another analogy is the Knight and the dragon. To reach the treasure we must face what scares us the most.

    Thanks mate! Looking for the Holy Grail! That was it. Should have remembered. It's a great story/metaphor for how to approach life. I've watched and read a lot of JP's work on ancient stories and the biblical text. It's very interesting stuff.

    ❤😉Oh, I love this song and video. The “I make mole hills out of mountains” lyric; would that not mean he reduces the size of a huge problem. I do that a lot. You get so used to having health problems that you develop the skill of almost laughing it off when a new one develops. However, there are days when the pain is so bad I get upset over a paper cut. Thus, I make a mountain out of a mole hill. Fantastic reaction Izzy. It really fun when you analyze Ren’s lyrics. Thanks. ✌️

    Always a fab reaction. As a person who makes his living as a creative (in my case images) I realised long ago I saw the world differently from everyone else. That the world I perceived was not obvious to others around me and that took some getting used to. I am sure other creatives have the same outside viewpoint of the world they may share similarities with others but is in reality a lonely place even after we share our creations. There is always a need for the next creation. Genius and madness share a certain proximity to each other.

    Great reaction video Izzy..... Thank you for sharing how making these videos inspires you and helps you in your own life, I have noticed that a lot of reactors to Ren's music and videos say the same thing. Most of Ren's songs have segments that connect more than others, in this song the bit that hits most for me is the - Beautifully sung, All Alone All Alone etc near the end of the song. It's not like i'm alone or anything, but i do suffer with chronic pain and have done for over 10 years. I think that leaves you with mental scars that can be triggered by certain things?..... Looking forward to your new music, have you considered a lyric video for your studio music? Thanks again Izzy

    Hi Izzy, thanks for reacting to one of my favourite Ren songs. I heard that a lady friend who was seen chatting with Ren in his live "Murderer" video does his artwork. Perhaps she does these visualizers as well. Heretic is one of my self-identifying words. Its origin is in ancient Greek and it means "one who chooses" as opposed to the orthodox view which just accepts what they are told. Anyone who refuses to accept the official version of truth may be a heretic but the most famous or infamous were the Gnostics in the early Christian era and the Cathars in the middle ages. The story of the knights seeking out a path through the woods was explained to me by Joseph Campbell. He said that the Holy Grail myth is very relevant to our lives and we all must cut our own path through the forest rather than follow the beaten path. This path we create for ourselves is path of the heretic. That is all I can recall about it.

    Creatives are not afraid to swing the pendulum further towards it's extremes, to find out what I don't know. I, on the other hand, feel a need to pull it straight, mostly in fear of a lack of control and safety. Extremes are dangerous and I, as the youngest child an a moma's boy, have been taught to not rock the boat so to speak. hmmm It's a programming I am constantly battling, because I have such difficulty in expressing myself and thoughts to others, and to put myself out there where there is a chance of being hurt. I don't fear pain, or being derided. I guess I fear failure. Failure hurts the most. If I cannot live up to my own impossibly high standards, then what is the point in showing more of me to the world?

  • @IzzyIzenstain

    @IzzyIzenstain

    Ай бұрын

    The point I would guess, is to learn and to grow, and from my experience failure is how that happens. No-one succeeds without first failing many times. To quote Rocky Balboa; "It ain't about how hard you can hit, it's about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward." Also, I get it, and realising it is fear of failure is a step in the right direction. But; "The cave we fear to enter, holds the treasure we seek". I guess you gotta ask yourself which is worse, the pain of failure or the pain of regret. Be brave, my friend. Doing nothing, isn't really living at all.
