I've said it before, but there's something about him. You could probably name a lot of things. They likely wouldn't quite encompass what it is. My best summation is that there's just flat-out magic in what he does.

Ren is a box of chocolates or an amusement park for an ADHD mind, you never know what to expect, but it’s always a journey. Ren is diversity of music wrapped up in a bow. He excels in virtually every genre. If you watch Fred again’s Tiny Desk Concert, you will see why Ren is drawn to him. Ren took 5 EDM tracks and seamlessly pieced them together with a truckload of emotion. So the lyrics weren’t his own, but I’m sure he was intentional in which songs / lyrics he chose. I like that you picked up on his unresolved pain as he looks off to the side. Especially as he looks out at the Calgary skyline, so far from home, where he has been for over a year as he gets medical treatment. You will love diving into his interviews. There will be a lot for you to unpack and it will make you appreciate his musical journey even more.

I loved REN’s singing and guitar playing in this . I am so excited for singing Ren… rapping Ren is wonderful but I love his singing voice so much. So glad you checked this one out and of course I love watching you…you always put a smile on my face and in this often sad and dark world, that is sooo valuable to me ❤️. Also. Something switched in me , the second he sang “…everybody leave me alone…I’m battling..” and I cried through the rest. THIS IS TRAUMA. It leaves its mark- no matter how temporally or spatially distant it may, or may not be. “ I’ve been lost, I’ve been lost ( and almost spoken “ for a while “) …but I’m really trying . More crying. And then , in his repetition of this , you can see and feel it all. “ I’ve been lost -he leans backwards -and then back “ But I’m really trying “. Again, THIS IS TRAUMA. Lately I must cycle through at least 3 of the 4 Responses within a single day. So. Much. “Stuff” I’m processing. One of those situations where you are in a room with other people and yet completely, utterly alone. Because you think too much and feel even more. And unless you are someone who fucking gets it , you do this alone. And it’s isolating. I honestly think that is what has made Ren “ blow up “ since Hi Ren. His talent was always there. We see it reacted to. BUT , in laying bare his vulnerability and his humanity , he built a connection to a community of people. Not just those who have dealt with similar health issues [ both physical and mental * and EMOTIONAL ( that’s a whole other conversation)], but with a group of people who have been taught/ conditioned NOT to acknowledge this part of their humanity. I honestly can’t praise your reaction enough 🫶🫶🫶 I got turned on to rap through Ren, and I was surprisingly gutted knowing this wasn’t going to be hip hop. Ren is a master of HIS art. I love the mystery of his music and have learned to just be excited about not knowing what to expect. 😂 There is no one like him. No music like his. Once again a true masterpiece from Ren. And another masterpiece from Hector❤. The pain of chronic illness seeps through a RENs soul and it touches anyone who has lived a similar life. I have been lost for a while now but I am trying for my sons. I lost my husband at 60 to pancreatic cancer, their dad, and it all happened within 2 months last August then my mom died in October. I wake up trying every day. This song is beautifully constructed and sung. I pray Ren gets his health back soon ❤

For who is Fred Again, listen to NPRs tiny desk concert by Fred Again. For anyone who doesn't know; NPR is the US public radio and they have little concerts in their building where the artists take over the staff member's desks....and play the best f*n short concerts you wish you could attend
