The laminate wasn't a metaphor. Ren recounted in an interview how he was lying on the laminate kitchen floormof his mum's house, clawing at the floor in agony. The fact that he is albe to alchemise theae experiences into such astounding musical compositions is outlandish

As someone who has lived with life-altering pain every day for 15 years due to a severe back injury, this song hits home. Pain does teach us, whether we want it to or not. In the past, I've been bedridden for weeks at a time, I was unable to walk even with a walker, and I've fallen so many times that I've lost count. I've wished I was no longer alive, cursed at the unfairness of it, grew bitter in defeat, until I was finally just existing with both my feet in a grave while waiting for it to end. However, pain also taught me just how strong I am, and just how much I can overcome. While yes I will still always be in pain every day for the rest of my life, I will never let it win. To anyone going through it too, please never give up. YOU CAN DO THIS!

@@deborahhalbert3372 I understand. Just realize, it is perfectly okay to not be okay. Even now I still struggle with it. I used to joke around and say I didn't need to get married because I already have a lifelong partner in my pain. The physical aspect becomes easier over time, as both your body and your mind will build up defenses to help you deal with the pain. The mental is the biggest battle. You might try checking out meditation and/or yoga. Both can help strengthen both the body and mind. I know it's hard and it feels like others just aren't willing to try and understand what you are going through, which leaves you feeling so alone. Try not to blame those who don't get it though, if you can. It's actually not their fault, because the human brain is a funny thing. It will protect them from the knowledge that pain on that level actually exists. Just give them time, and those who love you will eventually understand, or at least understand that they can't understand. Just know that you are not alone because there are a lot more of us out here than you may think. Everyone is stronger than they ever dreamed possible, it's just that most people are not put into a situation in life where they have to learn this lesson. I'm sorry you are one of us, but I believe in you, and you can make it through this!

An ADHD reaction to an ADHD song. Both brilliant! Seven Sins is one of my favourites and it’s also just the perfect opening track for the Sick Boi album. When you get deep enough into the rabbit hole you will notice how the entire album is like a Reniverse tapestry of interconnected lyrics and references with this song hinting at what’s to come. A *forensic* dissection of humanity and pain *for Ren’s sick*… boi sick boi 🐰🕳️

I have been waiting for this one. I could picture your face when the beat came in and then the violins. The thing I love about Ren's music is that it is always authentically from his personal experience but he has the ability to illustrate the connections to all of us and the world. It is always brutally honest, relatable and yet hopeful in a way. Even the sad ones have an air of I have overcome so we all can overcome. This song is just brilliant and your reaction just took it to another level! I want a Hector Ren Podcast or something! Could change the world! Thank you! ❤

A lot of the pain Ren talks about here in this track is literally the physical pain he endured due to his lymes disease and the awful things it must have done to his body when going undiagnosed for so long. Then obviously the mental trauma that inevitably impacts and the all the resentment building in his mind and questions he’s asking himself and indeed his/her higher self.

Urukai Master Plan. Think Nazis. in Lord of the Rings, Saruman sided with Sauron. Sauron wanted him to create an army to rival the West. Saruman then crossbred orcs with Elves, creating the Urukai breed of orcs; they were master fighters and viscious. He spent his Urukai armny at Helm's Deep attacking the defenders. Gandalf and the Rhohirim saved the day near the end of the great battle. The fleeing orc army ran directly into the woods behind; though those woods were actually the ENTs (treants) who killed every last orc and warg. Brain, you need to bone up on your LOTRO history.

Another one of my absolute favorites is “Crutch” written and performed when he was experiencing what he describes in this song. The combination of excruciating pain and psychosis must have been unbearable, but he channeled it into something beautiful and thought provoking. As for the "rain down parmesan" line, it reminds me of the line from the movie Tombstone, where experienced gunfighter Earp accepting the frontier Sherriff's badge in a new town means he's likely to have to kill the bad guys. "I've already got the guilty conscience, might as well have the money too." If pain makes money, Ren's had half a lifetime of pain -- life owes him the cheese for everything he's already suffered.

I’m so happy! This is my favorite Ren song. It explains so well what he went through and tied it in so beautifully with his message.

Fucking brilliant!!! 👏👏👏 have been waiting for your reaction to this one since the album dropped. “He’s created another sex hole” has got to be statement of the year 😂😂😂 Such a superb track & the perfect one to open the Sick Boi album - fantastic reaction 👏👏🥰

What hits hardest is at the end where Ren says one sin for every one day of the week could also be interpreted as one sin for everyone, day of the weak. Just 🔥

This is a tough one to break down. No doubting that. There’s so much to dissect. Plus, you’ve got multiple different layers. Ren clawing at the laminate writhing in pain, wasn’t a metaphor. That’s just plain facts. “God tied a noose to his neck and he walked to the edge and he jumped” is what Ren saw in the depths of his psychosis brought on by misdiagnosed Lyme disease. John Lennon was shot by a guy that wanted to gain the attention of Hollywood actress, Jody Foster. It’s a crazy world we live in, man. Hope this helped a bit. Cheers, mate.

You are right about finding new things to dissect each listen…..this song offers so much sonically and the video is a an assault on the senses too. It is my favourite on the Sick Boi album and seeing your reaction….wow…..it certainly had an impact on you too. Loved this reaction 💜🔥

I commented on REN’s track Lost all faith when it was released, “He’s not the Massiah, he’s a very naughty boy! “. Now I’m not so sure🤔 It’s not a cult. It’s a book club 🫵😁 This was awesome Mr Hector sir🍎. Have to stop watching you at bedtime. F**kin wide awake again now 🧨

This was the f***ing best reaction and analysis of this song I've ever heard. I love this song so much and I have listened to it many times, but you still managed to increase my understanding of it during your incredible analysis. This was perfection!

A simple thumbs up to like just isn’t enough for this. I didn’t need to rewind what you said at the end to understand….. think I’ve been watching you too much 😂 I knew this one would blow your brain. Beyond the lyrics I think the beat and production has stepped another level again. Hell of an opener for an album huh? I have many favourite Ren tracks but when someone asks me to name one, this is always the first that comes to mind. The way his flows and beats switch up so often it definitely keeps the brain focused and off on a tangent all at the same time 🤯🤪😱

Hey Hector, I'm starting another binge!!!! REN REN REN!!!!💜💜💜"running from the silhouette of self doubt" - that's ME... I can't wait for the dissect!!! I've been crying on the floor many times, frozen by panic, wanting to not feel anymore, this song made me cry...34 years of panic for me.

This song is epic sonically and lyrically and the production is an interpretive dance. It is straightforward about physical pain and mental pain; and it's also layered with metaphorical concepts that possibly even Ren didn't realize during its creation. Our friend Mark has a brain that grabs all the goodies and sees a pattern and can interpret the vision for us who seek. This is a very good thing. Verily.
