Ren's retakes are always multiple things: All retakes are not monetized and he wants to show his love for those artists while educating people on great music in the process. All of them. They are also never covers but reintepretations in various and creative ways. Bringing musical culture to life one retake at a time. It's just an awesome experience. And here he is basically saying: Pay respect to the greats that came before me and that are not longer with us, BUT more importantly value them while they are STILL ALIVE. Which he did here with Nas. You have to love it and respect it. He also changed the beat in various ways in a very dope way if you pay attention and did callbacks for other Nas songs within the lyrics of this retake. And more eastereggs that I do not want to spoil. :D

I keep randomly wondering how many Ren fans there are in Calgary these days... did you know about him before he showed up in Calgary (I didn't, I ran across him pretty much exactly a year ago)? Have you heard of any Ren sightings since he's been there? I know he's not there to party of course, but who knows what a guy from rural Wales would find himself interested to check out while living in a Canadian city...

In the comments Ren pointed out the cross-walk countdown behind him at 0:57 stopped at 0 , when he unintentionally stopped as well. Now I can't unsee it 😄

Ren did do well in school. He said in an interview that his report card was A-3 all the way which he explained means he got top grades with very little effort (which, in turn, pissed off his teachers a heap). Spearing as a retired teacher kids like Ren (very bright but can’t be arsed are usually very frustrating but also extremely fun). Their parents on the hand…❤️😊❤️

Intros just fine. Ren is awesome. In chat he said he will be in Canada until June. But back to UK in May, for show(SGP?) AND back to Uk June,July for shows NOT GLASTO. Then is moving with his friends to LA and wants to busk in Venice Beach ,California. He talked before of working with a producer on whole album.

@@kellyt5341 treatment definitely ends in June. I think the 3/4 months of intense antibiotics that he put off for the Sick Boi promotion ends in April. There must be a bit more to it. He was only originally meant be there 6mths and it turned it to 18!

Nas is on most Hip-hop heads top5 or top3 rappers all time, and his 1996 debut album "illmatic" is considered by many to be the best Hip-hop album of all time, and this song here, "Halftime" was the first single off of it. Just putting in context how big of balls it took for Ren to even attempt a re-take of such a song, he's gotten nothing but praise from the Hip-hop world, but I'm just saying, it could have gone horribly wrong. Also, Nas was supposed to have a verse on Tupac's "All Eyez On Me" along with Insepctah Deck from Wu-Tang and a few other NY rappers, but the whole East Coast-West-Coast thing started getting out of hand and they were scratched.
