@kerstianurey5496 traditional fae are tricksters, kinda like traditional genies, they give you a wish, but not in the way that you want. Like if you wished for, let's say the power to fly, you didn't specify how you would land... if you wished for wings, you didn't specify if they would be working or how big... I also think with fae you have to give up something very valuable to you on top of that, they also have a chance of attacking you I believe and even make traps. Mushroom circles and suspicious plants or leaves are often thought to be fae traps, such as a single leaf on a plant that's flickering aggressively while all the rest are still, or a flower that appears to be spinning, because they lure you in with curiosity and attracting your attention, and that's where the fae tries to make a deal with you, or tries to attack you. Of course, don't take my word for it, I haven't studied much on the fae in particular, so some of what I said might be wrong, but it's something like that, and they are tricksters and some believe to be aggressive. I do suggest looking it up for yourself ^^ Also, do correct me if I'm wrong, I would love to learn more.

I believe that's why they do it. I know I go to faire to get away from the crazy of the real world. I grew up in 7th most dangerous city in the USA and have seen some stuff.... don't think it's always all magical because I drive 2 hours to get to the faire once a year.

Many people I know, go to places like this and comicon to cosplay as a way of escaping the real life and memories of their past. You can be free in a fantasy land, have a different name and backstory that isn't dark. It's similar to why some people developed DID as children.
