A detail shop put a ceramic coating on my windshield. Been through almost $300 worth of new wiper blades, and they all streaked and I was super unhappy. I had to fix it myself, I took my Zota 3 inch polisher on either speed 1 or 2 and with a felt polishing pad and I actually used Weimans glass cooktop polish and CarPro ceriglass to remove my minor scratches but I will not the coat windshield. I do glass polishing on both cars and around homes. I do inform people for liability reasons I WILL NOT offer a coating for the windshield, I do however put it on ever other window. I think this was a great video man, lots of great info 👍 *I had that coating since May 2021 and went through that 300 bucks of blades, shop charged 100 dollars... I got ripped off IMO

I really enjoyed watching your work. Would you recommend using 3inch pad in mirror side?

The 3" pad would be the best option, but it might still be a bit large.

In another video covering heavy spot removal, the guy used a wool pad and heavier cutting compound to get rid of the spots.

You never have to do it if you prevent the water spots. It just depends on your situation.

Has anyone ever tried something like Lime Away on spotted glass? It would seem to cut through water deposits well, it works pretty good on plumbing fixtures and such, why not glass?

    Speed for the polisher?

You really just need to play with it. Figuring out the speed is not that difficult. It just depends on the water spot.

0000 steel wool with a heavy compound works well.

I've used steel wool before but have seen that it can scratch glass. It's less user friendly but can definitely work.

Why didn’t you open the door When polishing? I also noticed you didn’t neutralize the glass after polishing leaving behind a wax silicone Barrier that you will have to cut through with the polish.

Opening the door would’ve introduced a tremendous amount of vibration and would’ve been counterproductive. This car has a frameless window design. The glass was cleaned after polishing.

All these expensive items and non of them worked for me. Now i just use mothers mag & aluminum polish on my glass and faded headlights and tw wax& dry. Since i used the wax & dry i never had water spots again going strong almost 2 years now
