I was struggling to take off a hose off my motorcycle radiator. Then I came across your video and it did the trick! Thanks for taking time to post 👍

You are more than welcome Esteban. Keep that motorcycle and your cars on the road... make those vehicles last baby!
This truck just worked like a champ on my garbage disposal hose. Under 10 seconds with no effort. Hallelujah!!!

Yes, it also works on other non-automotive applications as well. Thanks for watching. I hope you're a subscriber and make those cars last baby!
Yeah right..... lets see you do that on a lower hose with zero clearance !

I did the lower hose... but it is true you may have to take off some other things to get to it. Thanks for watching. I hope you're a subscriber and make those cars last baby!
Where's the bottom and replacement?
Great tip, helped a lot -- thanks.

Thanks JW... this video has really taken off like a scalded cat... I think it's now the #1 video in the world on removing radiator hoses. I hope you're a subscriber and make those cars last baby!
Thank you so much!! Really valuable advices - I’m renovating (or trying to) my 35 years old Honda NX250 and this helped me forward. Cool man!

I subscribed! Even though this is motorcycle but problems are similar 😊
Any chance you have a video like this, for disconnecting the air intake hose, momentarily, just to wrap some Gorilla Tape around my radiator hose for the moment? Im just sealing a literally "pinhole sized leak", in my radiator hose, running from my radiator to the engine. Just trying to buy some time, for my 2014 Kia Forte EX, until my "mechanic appointment" in Williams, Arizona. Thanks man, great video, very educating. I'm actually trying to self-teach myself on how to fix certain things within my 2014 Kia Forte EX, so that I'll be able to fix these things myself, in the future. Also, I think I want to learn the trade of "car mechanics", for both that same reason, and also to simply know my way around a car, so that I can fix them myself, and also make a career out of it, as well too....👍🫡🙏💯🚗🔥🎄⛺️
Somethings i dont completely agree with... Compression clamps dont hold the same tension their whole life. Spring steel weakens over time. Dont use picks to unseal the hose, simply use channel locks and give a quick back and forth and it will break it free without potentially tearing up the hose if youre planning on reusing it. You used a pipe wrench anyway making the use of the pick literally pointless. Always remember to either use an air lift to fill coolant or make sure you burp all the air out of the system and use new thermostat whenever youre messing with the cooling system

Thanks for the comments Tommy. Because of the plastic radiator necks I think you're smart not to just put the channel locks (my pair does not fit over the radiator hose) or pipe wrench on and start rocking back and forth. Those plastic necks can break off, which would require a brand new radiator. Gently picking away at the corrosion first helps to break that corrosion seal that develops. Then when you put the pipe wrench on you're only dealing with 20-30% of the remaining corrosion that you couldn't get to with the pick tool. I think replacing the thermostat should be based on (1) how long they last and (2) where it's located. On different cars the thermostat sometimes wears out quickly and can be replaced easily. If that's the case you are right on point. On other cars they tend to go 200,000 miles or more, and they are located in difficult to reach places. Hey, thanks for watching. Make those cars last baby!

@@TheSwitzAutomotive yeah i had a subaru i resealed the engine at 310k and the neck on the radiator broke on me probably 1500 miles after the rebuild but i think she was due for a radiator anyway haha i loved that car sold it with 340k and it lived a harsh life til 360 something after i sold it. I daily drive a tundra now so hopefully no issues in the near future

@@jacquelinebishop8465 Happy to help! Thanks for watching and make those cars last baby!
Vice grips work very well
I usally cut the old hose with a utility knife and go on. If I was going to replace the same hose, what you did would have came in handy. I don’t see you putting old hoses in a new radiator
Thank you for these tips. I have always used the picks to help break hoses free but I never would have considered using a pipe wrench. Also, I always wondered about the difference in clamps and why and now I know. I actually cracked my brand-new radiator this way. I wish I would have found this video sooner but now I know for next time. Thank you.

@The Switz I was originally watching your videos on Ames Multimeter when I found this video. Since I am one of many that have cracked the radiator neck from tightening too tight, how do you feel about JB Weld high heat on the outside of the neck, allowing enough curing time before trying again with a tension clamp?

@@Jinkins100 I would give it a shot but you may need to plan to buy another radiator. Don't feel bad. Things like that can happen.

@The Switz Lesson learned. Thanks for your information, I now know I can trust the tension springs and if I do use the screwing clamps, it's better to have to tighten a little more as needed because I can't untighten after it's too late and crack the radiator LOL.
How about the intake and output hoses on the firewall, behind the engine and under under obstacles with no room for tools or hands. I could really use that "quick tip".
thanks - never would have thought to use a pipe wrench...
how to put it on now?
Thanks for the video
Can we get the whole video... Of the removal and installation.
Nice
