With Remote ID coming in March of 2024, drone pilots need to be prepared to comply with the FAA guidelines. If you have an older drone model, you may need to attach a Remote ID Module to your drone. In this comprehensive video, we review 3 of Dronetag’s Remote ID Modules: The Dronetag Mini, the Dronetag Beacon, and the Dronetag BS. We unbox the modules, set them up, test them, and see how well they work on 3 different drones and even an RC Plane.
With complete transparency, it's important to note that Dronetag did send us the modules to review. However, the testing and reviews made in this video were unbiased.

Today I received mine drone-tag bs its price was $119.00 without battery which took two months to arrive, for many it is a bit silly to buy this module and they even make fun of it but for me it is better to obey the FAA laws and not be fined, For me it is hobbies.😊

Thanks for the detailed review. Still frustrated that I'm forced to put a $200+ wart on my $400 drone.

Thanks for the comment! And yeah, it's a bit frustrating for these modules to cost this much - hopefully we see a decrease in price in the near future.

    How about $200 for a $60 drone?

Check out the Holy Stone module. In stock, small, lightweight (14g), self contained (5 hr runtime), FAA compliant and less than $90. I’ve had mine for several months and works fine. Have verified the broadcast signal with drone scanner app on iPhone. Don’t really care about range as I’ll never be using the broadcast signal.

Fortunately, my Mini 3 Pro came with Remote ID built in. That's a good thing because I KNOW it's gonna work. The other point is that I didn't have to buy an outboard tag. Those things are expensive.

I Thought about getting the first one, the bigger one, but after I saw the price I just closed the app. Then I heard about that DJI was going to be doing updates to their drones so I waited. I'm glad I did because now both of my DJI air 2, and air 2S are now compliant. Personally, I'm not against RID, but let's be honest. Those prices are pretty absurd for what it is and can do. I love the content, and thanks for sharing. 👍👍👍

Hi Ken - great video - I'm wondering about the weight of the modules - does the weight of the Mini or BS count against the total weight of the drone, if we want to keep it under 250 g, or is the weight of the module not considered? Thanks.

Thank you! And yes, the weight of any external module does count as the total weight of the drone.
