It's kind of like when you tell a child to look both ways before they cross the street. 1) stop and wait till traffic is clear. 2) proceed to (fly) cross the street or wherever. 3) produce the video footage showing that you did if the DRONE police happen Apon you! 🚁Losing my drone in a tree isn't the worse thing to happen to me today, but it's still up their 🤣
A big question I have and, for some reason it never gets answered with this question is: Can you fly your drone over an EMPTY highway/road? The law seems to assume there is always a car or bumper to bumper traffic on the road. And that makes sense, however, that is not always the case. I've even seen practice test questions saying an operation cannot be conducted, as there is a highway in the path. But a highway (asphalt and paint) is not a moving vehicle, so would there not be permission so long as there are no cars under you as you pass?
Absolutely I do it all the time. And not in a fria either. FAA bullshit is easier if you just ignore it lol
I do whatever commercial aircraft does. And thats fly over everything. :).
And don't leave your drone hovering since the drone is cooled by the moving air when it's in flight.
Does dji have a guarantee?
So the answer is yes?
Depends who you ask.
you are an operator, a pilot gets in a plane and flys it.
Sustained flight requirement no?
On point information, much appreciated 👏 🎉
Do not try to cool batteries under ac vents in car.. condensation = battery fail
I live the mountains at 5,800’. It’s normal to see manned helicopters flying 200’ or less above my home. Edison flys low to inspect power lines. That’s obviously a no flight time. But many flights don’t appear to have any business flying below the 400’ treetop line. Is it somehow legal to do this?
Hi, I am currently looking for budget laptop to process Orthophotos, do you think laptop with (Ryzen 5, RTX 2050, 16G Ram) is sufficient enough to process 1000~ photos? I am using WebODM on my MacBook Pro, and it is taking way too long 🥲
Thanks, been flying drone(s) for a bit, I need to try several of these moves. I’m sure I need the practice
While I am learning this while doing the license, it will be good of you espqlin the square , circle, 8 figure with the controls also explained
If you know how to play Frogger you are ok 😀
Great tips! Thank you! Signed, A Very Grateful UAV Coach Trained Pilot
Cops don't care in my area. I seen a kid fly is drone on the beach over people and cops did nothing. I was at a outdoor concert today and someone flew a drone over people and 20 cops there did nothing. I will fly my drone at night regardless of having a part 107. I know all the rules and have all the lights and I never fly in area of planes or helicopters. I use common sense. Stop giving FAA so much control!
I fly mine over the interstate all of the time 😊
I have the mini for and in the summer when it’s close to 100 my battery gets hot very quickly and so does my RC2 controller? So if I can’t fly in the early morning, I usually don’t fly .
Without watching, the answer is YES
After watching, still YES
It would have been helpful if he demonstrated the joy stick motions required.
Thanks for the tips, much appreciated. As far as taking off is concerned, after some practice, I would point the camera facing me. The reason being: 1-I could see myself on the screen without have to guess the surroundings especially if it is a relatively new location. 2-During the checking of the drone, I could do the Yaw and let the camera facing away from me, that way, after the turn, I could also make sure the Yaw movement is working properly. 3-That way too, I could physically see the gimbal tilt is working properly. Of course, one has to be familiarize with the maneuver of the drone first. Just my two cents.
😎🤝
Definitely one of the reasons why I'm not flying. It's way too hot, in fact it's brutal. It feels like a hundred ten degrees outside, and I'm not trying to faint from the heat. I really don't like flying from the inside of my car. I don't know how to explain but about 2-3 years ago I was flying from inside the car and a bunch of bird's came from my south side and I didn't hear or see them on time. Guess what happened? Yeah, Bird crashed my drone. That's why I will never fly from the inside of any car again. Don't get me wrong, it's a great idea to keep cool, that's why I did it, but I rather see all around me than just looking forward. Thanks for sharing Adam.👍👍👍
Great information.
Thank you for the details on this. I do a lot of filming over traffic and just don't want to risk an FAA violation so as a rule I do not fly on top of moving traffic for the reasons you mention. However, my goal is to "appear" that I am, I also do this with people as it makes your shots much more dramatic. Flying just off the edge while creatively using crop and zoom in post can achieve this effect once you learn how. I also take wide shots from the same position to show the FAA should I ever get a call about it, which has happened and I was able to make my case as a result.
Thanks for the helpful video!!
Thank u I love uuuuuuuu
What happened to the B4UFly app? Why is it no longer in service?
It's odd, drones have been incredibly safe yet there are people out there who are full of fear. Yet, they'll happily walk down the sidewalk next to busy traffic, drink too much booze or drive a car on the road.
Under “ Unlocking Application Reason” can i just put content or small content or would i actually have to get FFA approval and do the doc upload ?
I'm going to add this. You can if there is no vehicles on the street under your flight path. And most of the lightweight drones are over the weight limit after you add the prop guards.
Can I fly my drone with any color lights attached I like? Does the FAA have any regulation for lights during daytime recreational flight? Would the FAA have an issue with certain color lights on a drone, and would a local law enforcement have any jurisdiction if your drone happened to blink red and blue, say, in a game of cops and robbers with drones as seen on a different KZreadrs channel?
Commercial aircrafts Don't follow this rule and they're traveling at 500mph or more. Just rules that cannot be inforced and are SUPID !!
Your comparison is not valid.
@@Paiadakine yes it is
How much does the model without thermal imaging cost?
I thought Anzu was made in some country in Asia near China. Is that correct?
I'm sorry but commercial airliners and military jets etc. fly over all the time. Makes little sense. Drone hobby hatter backing this?
My biggest takeaway from taking the trust test was, don't be an idiot. Whizzing your drone over cars is just dumb as you're a distraction to drivers, and can cause an accident. Beyond that, my thought is how much I want to risk losing my drone. If my drone falls out of the sky over traffic, I might be able to recover fragments. If I'm extremely lucky, I don't get sued for causing damage to someone's car. Simple answer? Don't be stupid.
I'm in North Carolina and I believe that you are aware of the Surveyor vs Drone Mapping problem here. Don't get cought. Are there any other applications I can use this for.
The way I understand it is that it’s fine as long as it’s brief and you’re not hovering.
What country are you in? Rules are different in different countries.
There's a difference between highways and moving vehicles. Highways don't always have bumper to bumper vehicles, sometimes they don't have any vehicles and other times the vehicles are all stopped. If the circumstances are such that you can fly over the highway without flying over a moving vehicle, you can fly over the highway all day and night.
Simple answer, YES as long as you are transiting
Ken, thanks for all your videos. I just subscribed. Can you please tell me where you acquired the neck mic strap?
Well that couldn't be more clear!
How long is a waiver good for ?
From this video I understand the term "transit" means crossing over a highway, not flying parallel and right above. Is that correct?
Yeah I was thinking something like crossing over the highway to get to a center medium. From there, some awesome shots can be set up.
Correct. Transit is crossing over a moving vehicle. Also there's nothing written about flying over a highway. The restriction is on flying over moving vehicles.
@@DanielBates71 That’s a great point. To be in violation they would need to prove there were actually vehicles under the drone at the time of crossing the roadway. In all likelihood this code would only be enforced if there was a collision between a drone and vehicle.
Great Video. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.
One of the most useful channels for drone pilots. Thanks for the info!
