REMOTE ID is BS

Remote ID is BS, in it's sleight of hand backdoor Network Remote ID,
also the fact, that anyone, can see the pilots location, is BS.
Doing my part to get more voices out there.
I'd also like to mention all the great work that ‪@xjet‬ and ‪@BOTGRINDER‬ are doing for the cause.
I have done many Remote ID videos from the beginning of the proposed rule.
and here is that playlist.
• Big Water UAV Remote ID
Here is the FAA video mentioned in this video.

    Great video! A concern about network ID, is in remote areas where there are no cell signals, a drone will not be able to operate. If no handshake to the “network”, a drone will be disabled by its firmware. 1984 is here boys and girls.

  • @BigWaterUAV

    @BigWaterUAV

    I’m guessing they will have cell towers sniff out the RID transmissions via Bluetooth / WiFi. That is what will place it on the network. If you are in a remote area it won’t matter. The RID is blind into what happens with its transmission. The original proposal was for network RID from the drone. This implementation doesn’t use a positive connect to a cell tower. They will sniff out the signals when they can and network it. That way other aircraft or drones will be aware of the airspace. I’m guessing it’ll be important for the drones delivering your toothbrush and tube socks

    The reason you can’t have one module for all drones if you’re part 107 is because the rid is not tied to the person it’s tied to the registered drone. It’s a part of doing business just like paying for registration and certification and electricity for charging batteries.

    After Remote-I.D. comes, the demand to have INSURANCE creeps in... then comes the demand that every item needs to be inspected to see if it meets requirements to qualify for insurance, and ALL "pilots" will need a course to get a certified licence for each item that can fly... only indoor flyers may be exempt.

Anyone who is enjoying a quite time in the back yard (even if you have never flown a drone or a plane etc) this issue affects everyone as once corporate interests control the air space getting it back will be tricky to impossible. Enjoying nice day at the beach or at the park etc… #stopremoteid otherwise you will have delivery and passenger autonomous air traffic in your area and this is going to be the case in rural areas as well as areas such as cities and built up environments with lots of air taxi traffic…. Flying cars may sound great but let’s do that in a way which is not so load for adverse people enjoying a day dream while looking at the clouds ☁️

    Remote ID version 2.0 is coming as well by 2025/2026. This will be a requirement to install ADS-B Out modules on all Part 107 drones and eventually hobbyist drones. These are the same modules that are now required in commercial and generally aviation aircraft at a cost of $2,500 or more. The weight and power requirements will make it a no-go for most drones. Over $30,000,000 in lobbyist money 3 years ago have sealed the fate of the hobby.

    We’re not at that point in Canada but we’re getting closer and it is all about commercial gain. The oil companies out west are testing it on pipelines with the drones doing inspections. Which is a good thing it eliminates a lot of risks associated with the task. But is testing remote I D with Telus as it’s network with all data being sent through them and how many more companies are doing the same. I got a couple drones and a few planes but I’m not a die hard. But I like to go grab a plane or a drone and go to the park with my dogs and do some flying and let my dogs run. I always get asked do I need a license to fly them you tell them NO but then they here about remote I D and get shoes away from the hobby. I will put them on a string and use them as a kite before I put remote I D on my planes not like there’s a major airport within 350mikes of me BUT I’m directly in the flight path of my local airport that has a total of 2 flights a day. One at lunch time and one just after midnight. But this gentleman is right. There is not much we can do about it but not comply.
