Nice restoration. I have just recently got the 44 mag and 30-30 versions. They both have the walnut stock versions. The 44 mag is a cloverleaf shooter. I redid the stock finish last month. Turned out very nice. The 30-30 I just got a few weeks ago with a broken ejector. I'm in the process of bringing it back to workable condition. Fun guns to work on. The 44 mag has a new Timney trigger. The 30-30 stock trigger is great. The Timney is well worth the cost. The 788 ejection issue is well known. Raising the rings cures it. I have done that. I've done a few videos on my channel if you are curious. Enjoy it. Great shooters.

First rifle was a 788 ion 6mm rem given to me by my father. Shot the barrel out as it was so accurate. Last year I re-chambered it with a bartlien barrel to 6.5 creedmoor strictly due to ammo availability. Still shoots lights out. Great video. Cheers

Looks great. I like the period correct scope thing too. 788s seem to have a bit of a cult following atm. I have one in .308 : re-barrelled. Yet to shoot it though. Nice job on the stock too🇦🇺
