Today was the first time we took Finn (the grey four-year-old gelding) and Remi (the brown eight-year-old gelding) to this incredible marine park which has just the right combination of alpaca attractions to aid in their ongoing Therapy Animal Training and Urbanization!! Remi had been here one time before.
A good time was had by all as I passed out Farm Cards inviting visitors to come to our 3.5 acre home to further interact with these amazing animals.
Of my 3 alpacas, Finn is the most curious and “happy-go-lucky.” He seems happy to NOT be in charge. Remi is the self-appointed “guardian.” He seems to oversee my herd and takes his job pretty seriously.
These two alpacas seem to be the most comfortable taking Van excursions. My other 4 yo gelding vocalizes very nervous hums which actually come to a crescendo each hum. He has hummed nervously like this on the previous van rides and I plan to work with him more closely.
Right now, Finn and Remi are scheduled to be in our Homeowner’s Waterfront Festival as well as the Quilcene Sept 21 Parade!!!
To this date, I have not put all three into my “Alpacamobile,” but I know that they would fit and do plan at some future point in time to attempt this. My thought is that it will go fairly well AND that Rico would probably be more relaxed/quiet having his herd with him. Time will tell……………..
