I remember watching the show years ago. It was kinda entertaining and my friends would have arguments as to if the actors actually sang or played their own instruments. It was from a different time. I look back on it with fondness and nostalgia.

OMG .. like other teenyboppers, I loved David Cassidy. Had both his and Partridge Family albums. Had his poster on my wall. Lol Never missed it. Another clean and funny show. So sad how David turned out, how he died. And how he felt his life was wasted.☹

In Facebook, I mentioned that the passing of David Cassidy was a sad event for my generation since, he was the same age as me. Yes...there were "strikes" against his life: the life style he had. But, coming down with dementia was an "eye opener" in that Glen Campbell, though much older than David, had it too. I enjoyed many of the Partridge Family tunes they had in the four years of TV production. I have a couple of "45" records of theirs, ['You Were Always on My Mind" (1972) & "Cherish" (1971)] plus, a CD of their greatest hits. I just recently had seen the musical "Oklahoma!" by Rodgers & Hammerstein (1955 20th Century Fox) that had a young, 24 year old pretty Shirley Jones in the movie. Boy! That lady could sing. (I even enjoyed her in the 1963 movie "The Music Man" with Robert Preston) Shirley was, in my opinion, just fabulous in another great movie: "Elmer Gantry" (1960 UA) with one of my all-time favorites, Burt Lancaster. Back to "The Partridge Family" - what a good family show of that era. A "contender" to "The Brady Bunch" and several 'family shows' of the 1970's, the Partridges had adventures that nearly all young people and parents of those years relate to. Too bad TV shows & movies have gone way into "selfish attitudes and pride". TV ain't what it was in a very long time. Thanks, Robert for another one of my favorites.

Mainly, David's fans were much younger than he. Anyone his age were not the ones who went to his concerts or put his posters all over their walls. But yes Davids death had a 'loss-of-childhood' meaning that the deaths of other celebrities in 2017 did not have, even Glenn Campbell and Greg Allman.

One thing that is so clear about t.v. is it created a way to live for ever.I always believed that some people were just so talented so beautiful So incredible influential That the meduem t.v was a way people could almost be like the bible first talks about eternal and what a kind of blessing for if not people of past generations have now a way to show future generations these Selulite images that bring people back from the dead before one could could only read about historical personalities and now to be able to capture them with the camera that perfectly records them in Looks and sound and one can have them for almost forever.that idea Was until movies were invented not possible that said to say eternal life is impossible now even though not exactly Real those images chip away at that impossible Task, because the film captured them in living color for ever what a blessing not exactly but In a way so much very alive one could for a moment captured for ever to see some one that can be seen heard soon they will add since Of smell to these images Then taste and although Not real they are really alive just as sure as when they were captured on film.the mustard seed of faith the inventors must have because of all the negative chatter around them but believed anyway played off big time because they look alive just as surely as if they were thanks to film keep dreaming until we meet again.

There are some videos of Danny Bonaduce singing. He wasn't too bad either, really he was quite good. If he were Aussie he would've been a perfect fit for our "Young Talent Time", but I think Columbia Pictures were just trying to milk the "cute kid who sings" cash-cow for all they could get out of it.

L Martinez your claim is HIGHLY UNLIKELY as computers in the early 1970s were very much in their infancy and nowhere near capable of what today's computers can do. Plus the fact that they filled an entire floor of office space but had very little in the way of RAM(Random Access Memory) or storage space. Bonaduce's performances were live on stage with only the studio microphones picking up his voice and being fed to nothing more than an audio mixing desk, that can, beyond volume levels, really only tweak the tonal quality, not much more.

In the pilot episode, a group of musical siblings in the fictitious city of San Pueblo, California (said to be "40 miles from Napa County" in episode 24, "A Partridge By Any Other Name") convinces their widowed mother, bank teller Shirley Partridge, to help them out by singing as they record a pop song in their garage. Through the efforts of precocious 10-year-old Danny they find a manager, Reuben Kincaid, who helps make the song a Top 40 hit. After more persuading, Shirley agrees that the family can go on tour. They acquire an old school bus, a 1957 Chevrolet[1] Series 6800 Superior, for touring, paint it with Mondrian-inspired patterns, and head to Las Vegas, Nevada for their first live gig at Caesars Palace. Subsequent episodes usually feature the band performing in various venues or in their garage. The shows often contrast suburban life with the adventures of a show-business family on the road. After the first season, more of the show's action takes place in their hometown than on tour. dose this help you Lleython . Thanks for watching .

He left the program (and the business) after the first season, and was replaced by Brian Forster in the summer of 1971. According to his Partridge Family co-star David Cassidy, Gelbwaks "had a personality conflict with every person in the cast and the producers". He later appeared in a couple of Partridge Family reunions with his television family, including Brian Forster, who replaced him on the show.

The show was based on the Cowsill family. The network wanted the Cowsills but did not want the mother. That was the deal breaker so voila the faux Cowsills......the Partridge Family. Davis Cassidy was the real talent on the show as he could sing and play an instrument. The other's were a lip sync and fake playing instrument group.

Surprisingly, in his early acting years he was a pretty buff guy, played hoods and villains too, then came his "Dragnet" years with the button down off- the- rack suits he and Jack Webb wore, they were, by Jack's directive, very limited and bland so he could shoot long- shot stock scenes for reuse in several different episodes.
