Keep in mind Cs2 doesn't even have gun game, duck hunt and demolition... I don't know if they will add them back but many of them had original maps like Saint Marc, bank, sugarcane etc etc etc...

They should add back ALL operation maps and put them in a weekly rotation. So there will always be a variety of maps to play.

Austria was one of my favorite maps and my friends enjoyed playing it as well, I hope it returns in CS2 at some point, the vibes were unmatched. Watching this video reminded me of how much fun I had in 2019-2022 era. These map rotations were pretty common during the period and a lot of my friends played during the period, so I remember us playing on a lot of these maps actually. I haven't really played much CS2 in the last few months, it's kinda been a snoozefest lately and the lack of maps and game modes is one of the main reasons.

Yeah I agree! The Winter theme gives it such invcomparable holiday vibes and I remember playing it a lot around Christmas time and now I have such a fond memory of it!

I missed playing Shipped, Austria, Zoo, Seaside and the OG Cobblestone (even though it wasn't included on the video). The first time I played those maps I got hooked up on it and revived my passion for CS:GO. But when Shipped got removed but Austria still stayed I thought it will be permanent just like Cache. But alas, they removed it.

I loved to play Militia in comp, it always was a "casual" Map for most of the players and was so fun to play.

Sadly i havent been playing CS2 at all like I wanted because my favourite bits aren't there. Militia, Assault, War Games with Baggage and Lake...

I'm so tired of only having Office and Italy to choose from in hostage mode! Also, I hope Valve adds more new maps that stay as permanent additions to the map roster. Removing maps after a while has always seemed kinda dumb to me.

@@RedGr33nBlue 2 new maps doesn't mean anything if the game remain broken. It was only around 2014-2015 that CS:GO began gaining its popularity. But whatever both are shit at launch.

Hey man thanks for making these videos, really entertaining to enjoy on the weekend with coffee and chocolate. Used to be a big cs 1.6 and cs go player but quit it because of work, and these vids are really interesting and enjoyable. Especially the aztec video, used to play that map a lot around 2009-2010, big nostalgia, love the easter eggs and fun facts

I hope swamp and engage come back, but ruby has to be the best. Lots of landmarks and art for callouts, decent layout, and has that "happy, sunny" feel best observed in vertigo and coastline from rainbow six siege lmao

Thank you for giving the old maps some love! I feel so disappointed, that they in the end did not really get a chance to establish themselves!

I miss Zoo, Workout and Seaside. They might not be the best competitive maps, but I had so much fun on them with my friends.

Insertion 2 was the most fun map i've ever played. It should be added into the next content update when Valve is ready.

Volvo literally put the most played maps being inferno/mirage. even if a new map got released it will be deeply forgotten. the CS comunity is one of those communities that Hardly will like a new map.

@@warager9997 But that's the thing with games discovering new stuff and learning is what is fun. That's why dangerzone was my favorite due to different play styles. I don't want to peak with awp in mid or smoke mid just to get out of a spawn in dust 2 every single Cs Game.

i miss Insertion2 and basalt ngl. climb was also fun, hell theres a lot of maps that could come back imo.

I love basalt, insertion, iris and austria. But honestly, all of these maps were cool, fun and you only really start to like them more than ever when they get removed

So group up the maps or rotate them frequently or shuffle mode or mapcore or votemap... so many witty ways to include MORE, so lazy to say otherwise

Ive always loved when operations get released with new maps I played all of the new additions of maps casually and competitively since Operation Bravo and some maps are stuck in my mind all the time, Cant wait to see what the great map makers are gonna release in CS2 because already things are looking really promising, I just hope Valve makes 2 map pools, one for remade workshop maps (Like Santorini, Cache, etc) and one for new maps

The fact that Office is the only hostage map remaining and not Agency because its not a valve official map should be a crime. Also when it comes to new maps the playerbase just seems to be incredibly whiny despite them always complaining how they have to play the same maps. They expect to drop 30 kills on every brand new map and if they dont they say "this map sucks" and go back to mirage before even learning it. Ancient and Anubis for example have been in the game a pretty long time now and people still complain and refuse to learn them properly even when professionals play them already.

Favourite CS:GO map was Basalt. Pretty standard layout but it was fun and looked really nice.

I honestly thought biome was competitively viable balanced wise. But for throwing smokes or flashes it was bad. Loved the map regardless.

Valve doesn’t add a lot of maps because people simply don’t play them. Even when we were getting 2-3 competitive maps for map rotations and operations it became really hard to field players in matchmaking for balanced games and good queue times. Even classic maps like Train suffered from this after being removed from active duty. For a lot of people it wasn’t worth the risk to sacrifice your rank and get good at a map that would probably be removed in four months. If these maps return and are not playable in premier, faceit or professional CS they won’t stand a chance.

its a negative feedback loop. they add map -> people think they will remove it so dont learn it -> they do remove it after some months -> idea gets reinforced that its wasted time to invest to find smokes -> they add new map ... rinse and repeat

They should have keep csgo like cs 1.6, source, and so on

Remember when CS used to get a new case every 3 months? We didnt get a new one in a year or so.

Just wanted to point out that the maps in the thumbnail are all community made content. The process of porting from source hammer to source 2 hammer has a steep learning curve and is anything but intuitive. As VALVe rolls out the classic maps and game modes they will certainly begin to contact community content creators about including they're creations.

i played Tuscan, it needed some reworking, but valve didnt bother to do anything for it. then they deleted in for cs2. i liked shipped. it had a few areas that were brutal to play around. Swap moving thru the water sucked. Oh shit Workout was great!

People are always like "bring back Cache, we want Cobblestone back, etc" but, really? Do we want the same maps for another 10 years? Now that we have Source 2, I would much rather have brand new maps replacing some of the current ones. Like, I get it, Mirage is the best map ever, can we get rid of it now?

@@theodorebagwell420 yeah and for the longest time I only queued Mirage, Inferno and Cache. Honestly making premier the preferred gamemode is the best that they've done so far, I would have never played Anubis or Ancient if they hadn't and the same goes for everyone else, and I sure love the change. I would have gotten tired of the same maps for 10 more years, and I sure hope they give us many new ones from now on.

@@JerryO1995 Vertigo is not bad it has been growing on me since I learned some HE lineups. Inferno used to be my favorite in active duty but the cs2 version is just not hitting the same. Mirage sucks ass it's the new dust2, stale boring map.

thx for reminding me of iris!! the vents there were fun and overall those 2020-2022 maps were great to mess around on with a few friends. it would probably make the video too long but some of the wingman maps were also good stuff. pistop will always hold a special place in my heart, it was so simple yet you could always zeus someone from an otherwise common angle
