We needn't be judgemental. We're not in their shoes. Of course we recognise that this treatment of an innocent child is just terrible, but generally speaking, if we educate 'the children' then there's a good chance of eventually changing that part of the culture, at the very least. God is a God of love, mercy, forgiveness. He also is a God of wrath, but again, we can't know who and for what reason God's wrath comes into effect. If we're educated in God's ways then WE have to watch ourselves, our behaviour and thoughts, but as we only walk in one pair of shoes, our own, we're only in a position to judge the behaviour, not the spiritually uneducated.❤😊

It was religious superstition that caused this to begin with. My Christian family here in America has called me a "witch" all my life because I'm different from them. Don't even get me started on the millions of people the christian church alone has slaughtered over the centuries because of superstitious ignorance. Add to that any other culture or belief system that does this kind of thing. It's unconscionable and inhuman. If I lived only 3 hundred years ago I would have been burnt alive at the stake because of the way I was born. (No, I'm not going into it) People do this to other human beings in their name of their "god." Makes me proud to be an atheist.

I can't imagine anyone telling me a child was evil or a witch without me laughing in their faces and telling they lost their marbles. It makes me sick! I love in northern England, if that little not was stood in a street here people would go to him, pick him up & call the police, no doubt people would get him good and drink, give him their coat...it's so sad to see children being harmed. I used to teach and I always say that if you can't treat every and give them love like they're your own child then you're in the wrong job. I don't teach full time now, I go in to help with classroom management now. I had to stop teaching full time because of disability, not stress or hating my job.

She is such a wonderful woman, the world needs people like her.

If there are people exploiting families and calling their children witches, then the child is screwed even if the parents keep them. The community then ostracizes the child. So in reality it starts with the exploiters. The community needs to shut down the practices of the exploiters... which would be a difficult task.

I had heard of these abandoned children before. On this end of the spectrum ignorant people place their faith in a preacher and perpetrate this evil thinking it is good. On the other spectrum those actually practicing black magic target children for ritualistic reasons. In some areas there are albino children that have had their limbs cut off for rituals, other children are sacrificed or boys are killed to castrate them so their genitals can be used for rituals. It is like there are no bounds to the evil done to children!

I'm still glad they make up and he forgave her. They are lucky he had helped. Not all children survive long enough to get help. My heart does go out to the mom also. He was a village head and any blight on his line would have been very bad for him, e.g. having a witch child. I can easily see him forcing her hand in the whole situation. We all can say "I wouldn't" and "I know this person who had a kid so young and they didn't," but we all need to remember no one went through what she went through. Was it a horrendous thing to do? Yes, and she should be kissing that child's feet daily for him to have the grace to forgive her. However, she was a victim herself.

Only her son can be the judge of that because he was a victim of her decision and he had to bare that burden. It's easy for you to say "she didn't choose to do it" to justify her actions. You forget there was a little boy starving, alone, wondering the streets slowly dying. That trauma will follow him for the rest of his life. Your fantasy doesn't change what happened to that poor boy. He's traumatized enough. Let him decide if it was justified or not.

This story is so sad showing how people/society can treat a child so poorly...its heartbreaking and to ignore a child on the street when they are clearly starving. Meine Tante hatte mit all den anderen Nonnen ein kleines Maedchen aus Afrika adoptiert, nur ein paar Jahre alt, dieses Maedchen wurde von anderen Klan Mitgliedern in Afrika vergiftet, regelrecht vergifted, dem Maedchen wurde eine aetzende Fluessigkeit zum Trinken gereicht. Das Maedchen war totkrank. Meine Tante und die anderen Nonnen adoptierten das Maedchen und liessen das Maedchen nach Deutschland einfliegen. Das Maedchen war tatsaechlich todkrank und nahe am Sterben, die Aertzte in Deutschland kuemmerten sich um das kleine Maedchen und die Nonnen nahmen das Maedchen bei sich auf und erzogen es. Dieses Maedchen wuchste heran und heiratete dann einen Deutschen Mann.

As a Nigerian and a pre-teen, I cried tears of disappointment, pity and joy all through this video. I love the fact that her heart broke when she saw Hope and didn't care about his looks, but the amount of suffering he could've been going through... she is an angel- a gift from God. Black lives cannot matter if *ALL* life doesn’t also matter. That was a politicized movement that only exploited black lives and white guilt with its highly deceptive statements and falsehoods. I am white and we already know their lives matter. They’re the ones that seem to not gaf about black lives, killing each other and aborting their babies at staggering rates. Anyway, that was just so heart shattering seeing that little baby as a walking skeleton, knowing everyone was even able to look past such a disturbing sight is so disheartening. He is so adorable, the representation of purity and innocence and I’m just so thankful she was able to save his life and elated that they all collectively gave him his light back, his soul. We shouldn’t see color bc it’s highly divisive and just incredibly senseless to narrow one’s identity down to just a single physicality; skin color.

I’m so glad I seen this video. I’ve often wondered what happened to the little. Such joy to see he is happy & healthy. Blessings to all involved who helped this little boy and other children as well.❤

Children aren't viewed the same as here in the U.S. t They're a drain on the family until they can "earn their keep." It's terrible.

@@JP2GiannaT- Right. If the mom gave birth at 15, that meant she was probably 14 when gRaped by that 50 yr old man. She probably had no choice or say in any matter for long time. And is haunted by too many things.
