Every deceased pet I've owned - other than some tragic state fair goldfish - have been part of my life longer and more consistently than any relative of mine who's passed. It's sad to lose something that you saw all day every day for years. I'll never understand people who don't get it, but of course there are monsters out there who do the worst things to animals and humans.

Hello. I don't know if I can translate it correctly, but my father always said that "that saying goodbye to an dog is the bitter price we have to pay for the sweetest love you can find". I always had dogs around me and I can remember them all, all their own personalities. And their is always a tear for each of them and a smile. Keep her in good memories!

I used to play for Beren, my rottweiler when he was stressed out. We lost him a couple months ago to cancer and I haven't been able to play without welling up with tears. Been a fan for a long time, and losing Maple must have been a real gut punch. We miss her.

Losing a pet is one of the hardest things to go through. It's like they become such a natural part of your life, you grow up with them and you don't even realize you're aging together. You just can't believe they're gone. I think from the looks of it, Maple looked really happy and loved, I'm sure she left comfortably and content.

I've been around dogs my entire life. I've lost them to illness, old age, fire, car, and the cruelty of humans. Anyone that says they can't impact you in a meaningful way doesn't understand and I hope they will someday. Not cause I want them to suffer the pain of the loss, but because I want them to understand how such beautiful creatures can touch your very being. I'll never forget you Stella, Sadie, Betty, Korra, Mia, Marley, Luna, Duke, and Sandy.

I just lost my mom about two weeks ago and the lyrics in this song were really breaking me down. I want to think she's still here with us in a way.

I'm sorry. Try to remember her during every tough moment that you have from here on. Imagine she's watching, and know that when you do the right thing, she is proud of you. She will never truly be gone. My grandfather was a deacon at the church. It's an honorary position for married men in Catholicism. At his funeral, a man approached me and told me how my grandfather changed his life by helping him to get off of drugs and steer straight for his family. I thought that day that I wanted someone to say something like that about me at my funeral, and so I have lived that way ever since. My grandfather's life made me a happy man, but his death made me a better man. I hope you find the peace that you deserve.,

I'm so sorry for the loss of your beloved Maple, but I'm glad you and Cherry have each other and your music to keep you going. About a year ago my boy Oliver passed, he was 12 and we had him all 12 years. Losing him was so incredibly hard. A couple weeks later, I lost my sweet cat Bella. It was a hard time. All that is to say that I can tell you it gets better. The path to healing is hard, but you're making great progress on it. Thank you for sharing Maple and your music with us.

Maple meant a lot to a lot of people. She brought smiles to many faces every day and I’m sure she’d be happy knowing that she’s continuing to do so. RIP to a very good girl.

I had my dog miles for 15 years. He passed away when I was 20. So basically I’ve had him for as long as I can remember. He was a golden retriever and looked very similar to maple. When I first found out that maple passed away it crushed me. And losing my dog miles was definitely one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to go through. It still pains me to this day. I’m glad you can channel that sadness into beautiful music for the world to listen to. I appreciate you AcousticTrench. Rest In Peace Maple ❤️

I’m 23 and my dog is going on 21 next month, so I can relate.

I miss that old girl. Never been the same on here without her.

I’ve avoided the last two videos so long only because I’d didn’t want to feel emotions. But damn 7 to 8 years of knowing and watching the doggo. With smooth guitars sounds. RIP maple.

Maple wasn't even my dog, but it still hurt when she passed. I followed y'all for so many years. My golden retriever just turned 14, November 8th and is in poor health. She had a stroke in October and i believe her days are few. She reminds me so much of Maple.

I stopped playing guitar for over 10 years also because of personal loss. I finally picked it up again and came on your video. I am glad you are playing again. I wish I had restarted earlier, as I now understand it's healing capabilities. Love to Maple and your family.

We recently lost our dogs we’ve had for 17 and 19 years. It is one of the hardest times. It’s been so lonely without them. Our children are grown and live away. The girls, (dogs) were so happy and brought so much joy. Our hearts are broken. Your music is beautiful and made my day a little better. Thank you!

I tried learning this song myself. The problem was that I didn’t know who I wanted to play it for. I realize that now. I wish I could say something comforting but sometimes music speaks louder than words. I’ll learn that song again. For Maple Welcome back!

I just saw this. I lost my dog Sascha a year ago. And I didn't cry. I felt terrible for not crying as i saw her look at me with her last breath. I didn't cry then. But looking back now at the memories we had with her. After 12 long years... with her... she lived a full life... but she was gone too soon.. Im glad this video made me cry. Sorry Sascha for taking a while to bring out the tears. I just couldn't back then. I miss you Sascha... I miss you... You were gone too soon. But never forgotten..

Lost my friend last month. Got him literally out of a pile of rubbish back in 2013, someone obviously had thrown him there, when he and his brothers and sisters (6 in total) where only a week old. I raised them singlehandedly till they where 2 months old. Each and everyone of the puppies were then adopted by kind families. My heart hurts every day, being without him. This song is beautiful. Thank you for sharing it with us. I will always remember you, Boltie.

Ah man...this got to me. I lost a golden retriever to cancer in 2013, and now my current golden has congestive heart failure. He probably doesn't have too much longer, but I'm gonna cherish every minute. I had a tough time in 2013, but, well...due to a lot of other circumstances in my life now, this one is gonna absolutely break me.

Watched Maple and Trench videos years ago with my elder brother. Now he and Maple have gone on ahead to a place I can’t reach. No more shared enjoyment of these covers no more jokes and laughter. Only the love and memories I carry. And boy that love stays. Just as powerful as the last day I saw him and the last time we saw these videos together. Just like I will carry my brother with my for the rest of my life, I will carry a small piece of Maple as well for all those good times that beautiful dog gave us. They are never gone completely so long as we keep their love alive.

I’m so sorry for your loss :( I remember watching videos of you playing for Maple when I was in high school. I graduated from university a year ago today. It’s been such a long time since I last visited your channel. I saw a video of yours recommended to me, and I thought, “that’s not the same dog..?” :( Run free, Maple. You will be missed 🤍

It drives me crazy Every time I hear someone talk smack on the movie "Coco" or say that "Pixar hasn't had a high quality film in years" my heart breaks everyone I hear the song "Remember Me" no matter if I'm thinking about my own relatives and friends or a dog from the internet. Beautifully played from a quality film and movie.

I'm not going to list my Top 20 Disney films but: Hunchback of Notre Dame Coco Lilo & Stitch Fantasia The only one from this decade is Coco & it managed to 'break out' without Hype or massive amounts of toys. Coco is extremely important as a movie, musical, family movie, drama, Art-piece (the Land of the Dead is possibly the most impressive 'world' since Alice in Wonderland's decades ago) & that ending. The ending is the 2nd best thing Disney has ever made, 2nd only to the Carnival of Fools & Count Frolo's Hellfire lament. But Coco actually succeeded past HoND by making the plot centered around none of the MCs but the very elderly grandmother who 'doesn't remember 95% of her long life but remembers all of her Family members, until she is so close to the End that the only way she can is by hearing her Papa's Love Song. I give Coco an 11/10 for pushing the medium like it hasn't been pushed in years. (They haven't made a movie to equal or surpass Coco yet. It's still the Top Most Recent Disney Film. I just wanted you to know you're not the only Fan who sees the Scoreboard!)

I have seen this video pop up often in my feed. I always watch it and it always make me emotional. How could any of us ever forget Maple? She’ll always be in our hearts. Hope that you are well and take some comfort that she spent her last time here in the company of the one that she loved the most.

I found you through a repost of you playing “Can’t Help Falling in Love” on the kalimba for Maple. Underneath the video, you commented. This is how I got into music and playing guitar. I was so attracted towards your music playing because of how you presented your work. A peaceful and beautiful environment alongside the most adorable and brilliant dog. I spent months looking through your works from most recently to years ago. I rewatched all of your videos multiple times because of how much I loved it. I even saved multiple videos that I eventually learned 5 years later using your exact tablature. And Maple was the magic to each video I saw. When you got Cherry, it was like a double whammy. 2 adorable dogs and 1 musician to soothe the ears. And when I heard the news of Maple’s passing, I couldn’t believe it. She was always there to bring a smile to the video and uplift your video’s atmosphere. Your music soothed me and Maple help me feel at home. You probably have heard this a lot but I’m sorry that Maple passed. Please know that we all genuinely loved her presence. And let Cherry know that she is such an amazing dog that has big paws to fill. I’m glad I found you and I hope to see another video from you again soon.

I just watched the video of you playing Coldplay with Maple and learning that she/he is no longer with us made me cry because I too lost my beloved 17yo dog just 5 months ago. Time definitely helped me cope with his death but watching these videos still makes me cry.

Almost made me cry at work watching this...ahhh I miss my two best friends, my companion, my doggies last year... it's almost a year now without them. I even dreamed of you Bogart and Baozi...I miss you two 😔

Maple was such a lovely girl, her sweet face and how much she loved your music really helped me when I was in a rough place. I’m glad she could teach all her love to Cherry before it was time for her to go. Thank you for sharing her with all of us. ❤️

I lost my dog a month ago and I saw this pop up again. It hit so much harder now that he's gone. I hope that wherever you are my mischievous good boy that you're safe, and I hope you do remember me.

My wife was an AHT for many years. Our house was hospice for pets that people didn't want to put down. The ones we got weren't in a lot of pain, but weren't going to live very long for one reason or another. I calculated that I experienced over 800 years of pet loss in about 10 years. I fell in love with every one of them. I had a blue doberman puppy that was premature and would't eat (the mother rejected it). I got it to eat an ounce of formula but he was just too premature to digest it and died over night. It still devastated me. I can't have pets anymore, I just can't stand the grief again. I'm a mess from your dog dying and I didn't know her and don't know you.

I've looked around. No other version of this song puts this much heart and soul into it. He's not just playing a song... He's pouring his soul out through music. Keep playing, sir. Keep playing.

We've recently lost our family dog. She was 16 years old. I can imagine the pain you are going through. All those small things that you took for granted are now small little voids. Keep on doing what you do. That's what Maple would have wanted! Give Cherry, the guitar, your loved ones and yourself all the love you can give. Don't forget to stand still from time to time to remember the adventures you had with Maple. You've given Maple the best life she could have. I'm sure she is thankful for that! i lost my best bud too, two weeks ago. she was seventeen. you hit the nail on the head - they fill holes in our hearts we didn’t even know we had. best advice i can give to anyone going through pet loss is let yourself hurt. it never really gets easier but if you’ll let yourself, you’ll learn to cope. ❤️

Maple lives on in the hearts of many people she never met, but to whom she gave so much 💓

I’m sorry for your loss, I lost my dog about 2 months ago so this really hit home. I loved watching y’all’s videos everything from her playing the drum to leaning her head onto the guitar. Well done maple, you left your paw print all over our hearts 💕

I can't help but tear up while listening to this and watching the moments between Cherry and Maple. The song and the overall melancholic, yet comforting feel of the videos and guitar, made me reminisce the days of Cayenne and I. Cayenne was my bird who sadly got lost in a windstorm due to the winds breaking my windows. Ever since, my memories of were getting locked away by my own brain without me telling it so, instead, it just replaced the memories with auditory, visual, and physical hallucinations. Although my memories of Cayenne are slowly being locked away, music and sentiments like this help me feel those memories again. As you said in the description, "Music is healing" and truer words need to be spoken more. Thank you for making and sharing this video. It probably took a lot of personal emotions to get through to make it, but your effort helps so much.

These videos are so beautiful, your music cut also cinematography is just so sweet and touching.

whenever I played my saxophone, my beagle Smores would howl. I like to think that it was his way of singing along. He's been gone for over a year now, and I don't pick up my saxophone often, but when I do, I hope that he is out there somewhere howling along.

I haven't watched your videos for a while but I've been a common visitor through the years. It saddens me to watch this video and learn about Maple, although it has been almost two years. I am sure she has brought many smiles to both you and yours but also people who have followed you throughout - I know she did when I first started watching your videos many years back.
