Remco Evenepoel’s Specialized S-Works Shiv TT | WorldTour Pro Bike
Спорт
Remco Evenepoel is the road race world champion, 2022 Vuelta a España winner and, for good measure, one of the fastest time trialists in the world! Ollie got his hands on Remco’s Specialized S-Works Shiv TT bike at this year’s UAE Tour (which of course he went on to win!) to take a look at the time trial machine that helps make the Soudal Quick-Step rider so quick against the clock!

6:08 I spoke with the guy from speedbar about aerodynamics in a TT, he explained if you divide the amount of resistance you experience in percentages wind resistance is more than 90% whereas mechanical resistance (drivetrain etc) is less than 3%, the mechanical resistance the pulley-wheel causes is a tiny fraction of that 3%. You could could cut that down by getting a large pulley-wheel from ceramic-speed, however this will result in more resistance in the end because the wind resistance will get bigger.
@ollyole4560

It's not that simple, it's turbulent air from the rider's legs/feet/cranks/pedals/chain/rear wheel/frame that's incident on the pulley wheels. And you also have a benefit of a larger crosssection on the larger pulley wheels that reduce's it's 'Cd'.

Well other than shimano probably wants to sell all the 9200 they can rather than supply it to sponsor teams, they did not develop new TT shifters and brake levers, 9100 tt shifters and brake levers got an update to work with 12 speed. But you need to have that wired, and you need the new to old wire adapter. Those are more reasons to stick with 11 speed for flat course TT bikes.

I run an OSPW with a 60T ring and I still have to take 2 links out of the chain on my Shiv TT disc (size med). I’m running an 11-32 cassette, so my biggest gear combo would need a longer chain than his 11-30

@KartGuy76 nope, I'm talking about the shiv TT, the UCI legal TT bike - it has been totally unavailable in all sizes in Europe, US and Australia for at least 2022 and so far 2023. Its not that they are just sold out, the bikes arent even coming to dealers and the dealers cannot tell when or if they might see some supplied in the future. I admit that I haven't tried to find one in SA, Asia or S.America.....so if you do have them now in SA then you must be somehow "special", but it would really seem strange that they send them to these markets, but not to any other.

A bike that has been sold out was commercially available. The UCI only states it has to be on the market within 12 months after releasing the prototype, but it doesn't specify how long it has to stay on the market.
