RELIGION AND ASTRONOMY: Let there be Light! | SpaceTime - WELT Documentary

Ғылым және технология

In the search for the ultimate answers to the origin of our universe, researchers are looking deeper and deeper into space. However, if science can explain the world completely- what remains of faith? Did everything simply come into being out of nothing? This Spacetime episode explores the connection and contrast between religion and science, the history of astrophysics, and the common origin of astrology and astronomy.

E = mc2. It's the world's most famous equation, but what does it really mean? "Energy equals mass times the speed of light squared." On the most basic level, the equation says that energy and mass (matter) are interchangeable; they are different forms of the same thing. Einstein and Planck both believed this was all CREATED.

I love science because everytime I do research in any field I find more reasons to believe in a God as described in the Bible. The best way to understand science is to the light of the Bible. By example, while during many centuries the man struggled about understanding the shape of the earth, long before the Bible already stated it was round. Isaiah 40: 22.

Having read Lederman’s book “The God Particle” (at a time in my life in which I was a militant atheist looking for ammunition), the explanation behind nicknaming the Higg’s Boson by the book’s namesake is complete bullshit. Lederman’s says it was supposed to be “The God Damned Particle”, due to being frustrated in trying to find proof of it, but his publisher said to drop the curse word. Bullshit. There’s no way to convince me he did not do it for marketing both his theory, and his book. I read it thinking I would have some kind of existential understanding of the universe by the end. Instead, I find out even physicists market their ideas to gain notoriety, rather than letting the science speak for itself.

Regarding Mike Hughes and his attempts to prove that the earth is flat, the first thought, or at least mine was, "what an absolute idiot." But it doesn't seem fair to describe him that way. After all, he accomplished on his own something that few people have done and most beleive themselves incapable of doing. Just building a functional rocket is a major accomplishment, and he had landed it successfully. Maybe he could be described as a misguided delusional fanatic or something like that, but not stupid or absolutely ignorant. He pit his money and his life where his mouth was, and that always counts for something.
