Loving this era of black women doing whatever they want to their hair to feel good about themselves. Shave it off, relax it, braid it up! Do whatever makes us feel beautiful dolls ❤

If I could have given you any advice back then for your hair it would have been to detangle/wash /deep conditioner weekly or biweekly while protective styling using the LOC/LCO method in either medium platts or twist ..always moisturizing ends. This can be for any struggling natural out there while I understand you’ve made your transition just trying to help others ❤️

Glad you found something that works for you! Being a mom of 3, with a busy hectic life I, myself am considering because it’s easier for me to manage. I’ve been on both sides of the fence

I had relaxers for 20 years and I am now natural. My hair is 4c similar to yours but not as thick. I have always had issues with dryness and so that’s my biggest concern. With that said, when they can create a relaxer that won’t cause scalp burn, associate with cancer, and won’t cause damage, I will never go back. Yes the hair industry needs to do a better job of creating good products for black hair but I don’t think a relaxer is the way to go. I seen many people who had relaxers throughout their youth but as they become older the relaxers have caused permanent damage. Good luck young lady.

🎉😮You actually look better with straight hair!!! Just stretch relaxers, use protein leave in conditioner, braid your hair down, & wear headband wigs till your hair grows long 💃🏾💆🏽‍♀️👍🏽🎉🎉🎉

Having natural hair takes up so much time compared to relaxed hair. My hair is natural but whew the time maintenance it takes and the thought of doing hair all the time is so much! Great video and it’s great that you did what was best for you!

I’m so happy to hear you found something that works for you and makes you feel happy! I think that aren’t enough accessible salons that cater to 4C hair. So it’s a full time job just to do your hair, whereas others have the capability of going to multiple places to have their hair done. It’s a different reality unfortunately

There is no difference in the type of products to use for relaxed versus natural. Both hair types would use shampoo, conditioner, leave in and oil blend this is the foundation. The only difference is the consistency of the product. Anything beyond these products is style specific.. Also, you can achieve the same look, if not better, by silk pressing your natural hair. Remember, it is in the stylists best interest to advise applying a relaxer every 6 to 8 weeks. Silk presses leave the hair full of body and are better over the long run. Your hair is likely over processed, that”s why the color has changed.

ok so basically, she hated her hair, did not try to give it a chance by learning how to take care of it and loving it and she relaxed it. THE END

I think it’s more to do with her environment and socially media . She was natural mostly her entire life, so she should know something. I honestly knew that the natural thing wouldn’t last especially with 4C hair sadly. I see the it with a small amount of cousins ( most of the family have looser texture) with 4C hair who just wear straight weaves all the time. I have also wondered if I didn’t have 3C/4A ( have not put any chemicals since ‘12, and do not like my hair straight at all) and instead 4C would I run back to the perm.

Even if she did hate it, why do you care? Naturals seem to be the hall monitors or gatekeepers of people liking or disliking their hair. It's weird.

Ok and? It’s her hair, she can do what she wants with it. Some naturals are so militant. It’s weird.

@@9darshana I just can't believe in 2024 there are still grown black adults complaining about their hair being "so difficult" and "too much work" it pisses me off so much. We all went through that phase where we would hate our hair growing up but as you grow, PLEASE GET OVER IT. I started to take care of my own hair at 14. I cut it all off because my mom used relaxers on it. I've learned to take care of it ALONE. I'm 19 now and my hair truly is what I LOVE MOST ON MY BODY. She is full, really long and healthy. Anybody can do anything if they* truly accept themselves dang it
