Relative Humidity vs Dew Point
In this video, we discuss the difference between Relative Humidity and Dew Point. What is dew point temperature and why is it a much accurate representation of the humidity in the air?
We use graphical examples and the psychrometric chart to show how dew point temperature and humidity percentages are very different.
Relative Humidity:
Not a good measure of water in the air (absolute humidity). RH is the percentage of how much moisture is in the air vs. how much it can hold. It answers the question “how full is the container”?
Dew Point:
The atmospheric temperature below which water droplets begin to condense and dew can form. This is an accurate measurement of water in the air (humidity).
