That’s not what is meant by the title. It means he was married to girl number one and decided to separate (divorce) that is the marriage break. During that break he started dating girl momber two. That was the relationship during the marriage break (up)/ de divorce. Hope that clarifies it

Actually if they lied to do this, then they’d get a felony. Judge Judy gets real court cases. I know because she offered to take on my cousins small claims court case. What they do is go through small claims cases in each state and offer to have her hear them. The defendants and plaintiffs both agree to adhere to her ruling.

@@cjordanvab no man who separates--when he's the one who leaves, not the man who gets dumped. I've yet to meet a man who dumps a girlfriend/wife turn around and take her back but women tend to dump a man, often for very good reasons, then take him back. it's ludicrous.

This is ridiculous. She took up with a man who was married and had a child. There were red flags but she was either immature at the time or just went with it, who knows. She needs to write it off as a lesson learned and move on. Who the heck cares about a shelf and a spray painted filing cabinet. 🙄

The defendant and his wife weren't even separated when the plaintiff took up with him. I heard that many States have a law where the couple has to be separated for x amount of time before divorce proceedings can take place. I'd understand if the plaintiff took up with the defendant during the separation period, especially if he made it seem like he intended to divorce his wife... but even this is shady. I'd personally wait until the man is divorced before dating him.

Marli, the plaintiff, was in a class at the college I worked at where each student had a mentor and got help- she was one of the saddest girls I’ve ever seen. She always looked like she wanted to cry and it was so hard for her mentor to get close to her to help her. I haven’t seen her in a few years but I hope she’s doing better. She is a really nice girl honestly, just young.
