Thank you. I am 72 and began practicing meditation in my 20s. I have meditated with Tibetan Buddhist monks in the USA. Over the past 15 years have not been practicing regularly. I use sound and videos. I felt I needed to get back into practicing breathing. This came up and I have a cough for the past few months. This was just what I needed and now as I am writing this my cough is gone. My mind is peaceful. Thank you and thanks to all.❤❤❤❤❤

I'm suffering from asthma, woken up by severe wheezing chest, while waiting for water to boil, I came across this video, I started breathing deeply as advised, the relief I got is amazing, wheezing chest stopped. Now I'm convinced that we can be more healthier by just controlling our breath. From now on I'm going to practice breath control to up to 9 breaths per minute, will stop when I reach 6 breaths per minute. Thank you so much for sharing this video, now I can sleep

after listening to 'out of the doldrums' and the way she explained that humming increased the Nitric Oxide 3500% when breathing and a Pulitzer Prize winner in late 20th century stating that NO is formed in the nasal cavity I decided breathing in through the nose while humming would be a perfect way to clean my blood. I have been doing it for about a year now and have unclogged my sinuses and have added mental clearness. thx for making your video.

This is ancient HINDU YOGA technique. Pranayama (Sanskrit: प्राणायाम, "Prāṇāyāma") is the yogic practice of focusing on breath. In yoga, breath is associated with prana, thus, pranayama is a means to elevate the prana-shakti, or life energies. Pranayama is described in Hindu texts such as the Bhagavad Gita and the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali.

As I understand, Breathing as per length of fingers is: Spread out the fingers of left hand. Using say the forefinger of right hand. Place the forefinger at the base & outside of the left hand thumb..Inhale slowly while moving the forefinger from bottom to upwards upto top of left thumb..then move the forefinger slowly downwards on the other side of the Thumb( that is your forefinger is now between the thumb and forefinger of the left hand. While bringing down the right hand forefinger from the top of the left hand thumb, slowly Exhale. When the right hand forefinger touches the bottommost portion ( between left thumb & left forefinger ), now slowly move the righthand forefinger upwards from the bottom to the top of left hand forefinger and slowly Inhale..when the righthand forefinger reaches the top of the lefthand forefinger, bring it ( righthand finger) slowly down wards on the other side of the forefinger (slowly Exhaling.)When righthand forefinger touches the base point between lefthand forefinger and Middlefinger, now slowly Inhaling move the right hand forefinger to the top of middle finger until it reaches top of lefthand middle finger.....now slowly Exhaling move righthand forefinger downwards from top of middle finger till it reaches the base of Middlefinger and Ringfinger..Now Inhaling slowly move the righthand forefinger slowly upwards on the Ringfinger.. then exhale slowly and bring the righthand forefinger slowly from the top of ring finger to its base ( between Ringfinger and little finger). Next Inhale slowly and moving right hand finger slowly over the lefthand little finger. When righthand forefinger reaches top of the little finger, move it slowly downwards on the other side ( outerside) of the little finger Exhaling till the righthand forefinger reaches bottom of little finger.... Also now using the same Inhaling and Exhaling process with the upwards and downward movements of righthand forefinger on all the left hand fingers, start Reverse process till you reach the base of the thumb of the left hand..... Hope this description is sufficient and understandable to start Breathing Length of Finger.

Very nice video but it is an example of talking about a topic without really giving away any means to put it to use. For example, specifics of measuring the breath by counting heart beats would be much more helpful. Inhale, hold, exhale, hold, repeat... how many heart beats for each? The doing involves many details!
