i believe so! any type of hitting a child is considered abuse and there are pain-free ways to scold your child that don't mentally traumatize them

@chaoslug7074 It really depends how bad it is. If it's like a slap on the wrist then it's not that bad, but anything like a gut punch is definitely gonna make them more distant and hold grudges against their parents
