For some reason I feel like Wayne didn’t get the recognition he deserved during his playing days. He was a reliable target with or without Manning. He’s HOF in my book. In terms of character? Not even close, class act.

Probably because he “unfortunately” had to play 1b to Marvin’ Harrison’s 1a throughout a good portion of his career. (Lol Also I say “unfortunately” but that only when looking at in this regard… but overall, he was incredibly fortunate for having the opportunity to line up along side Marvin and then to also have P. Manning the one throwing you the ball. Lol Then once that dominate trio was sadly no longer around, he was _lucky_ enough to once again… be apart of another dynamic trio… with him, Ty Hilton and Andrew Luck! (P.S. Looking back it, it’s pretty crazy just how lucky Reggie Wayne was when it came to his teammates… he benefited greatly by getting to play along side *_ELITE_* players such as Manning & Harrison and then Luck & Hilton. But also, the reverse is definitely true as well! Both Manning & Harrison, as well as Luck & Hilton… were also lucky for having him (Reggie Wayne) as a teammate and they all were definitely benefited by having such an elite WR play along side em.)

Wayne is a guy who put up some really nice numbers but it's the WAY he made those catches and the context of them that puts him up there. I can certainly understand how some might say he was buoyed by having Manning throwing to him for the bulk of his career but honestly, the guy was damn good no matter what.

I could just as easily say Manning was buoyed by having Wayne as his receiver. Reggie ran historically great routes, had great soft hands, and a very high Football IQ. He went up against many of the best DBs in football at that time and would completely embarrass them. Wayne will get in the HoF, just a matter of time.

I'll never forget when I was at colts training camp at Rose-Hulman in terre haute and there were a bunch of screaming kids trying to get autographs from Peyton and Marvin and I was down the line by myself, in my 87 jersey, just watching and I didn't want an autograph I was just there to watch my favorite team and players practice and I didn't want to bother them. And Reggie is walking towards the group with Peyton and Marvin and Reggie looked at me and started walking towards me and I looked left and right and behind me and thought to myself "oh snap he's coming to me" and he asks me if I wanted anything signed and I said "No sir, I'm just happy to be here and watching you guys" and he laughed and said my name is Reggie not sir. And he asks me what position I played and I said "Wide receiver and I have the best hands in my town" He laughed and said I like that confidence, now back it up with a work ethic. And he proceeded to set his helmet down and gave me his gloves and took off his number 87 practice jersey with the Farm bureau insurance tag on it and asked who I was here with and I told him my grandparents and he asked me to point to them and he waved them over and told them that they are rasing a respectable young man and that they should be proud of me. To this day I don't know what made him come up to me but it made me the happiest and proudest 12 year old on the planet.. From that day on I had a new respect for him and the way NFL players should treat their fans. Reggie was the perfect example of how a professional athlete should carry themselves. He was and always will be my favorite player to rep the white and blue horseshoe.

The only one that is better is Randy Moss, Cris Carter and Jake Reed. Tori Holt, Isaac Bruce, and Az Hakim are nearby, as were the WRs of the Houston Oilers catching BOMBS from Warren Moon... Ernest Givens, Haywood Jeffries, Curtis Duncan, and Drew Hill. This all proves TWO points. First, Moss is the best WR ever.... vmbecause there was not another WR that could have that big an impact on a game as prime Moss. Yes, Rice had the more storied career, the SB’s, the WR records, but he also played forever with Montana and throwing to him. Secondly, This is why Brady is the GOAT. His ENTIRE career, with the exception of Edelman, Gronk, one year of Moss, and maybe Branch, our WRs would not even START on most other NFL teams! Welker was a bum before, great during, and a bum after he left. Brady’s been forced to throw to an ever-changing ragtag bunch of WRs. Look what Tom Brady did with ONE season of an elite Randy Moss.... they only blew away the all time single season TD record and went undefeated. Peyton had those 2 HOFame STUDS his whole career to throw to. Musta been convenient.

I'm a Dallas Cowboys fan, but before I'm a Dallas Cowboys fan, I'm a National Football League fan, which means I admire great football played by great players. For what he accomplished in his career, I believe Reggie Wayne was underrated. NFL Films did a "Most Underrated Players" special. Reggie Wayne should have made that list of ten. Playing alongside Marvin Harrison for the early part of his career didn't help him get known either. A great player who I personally think had a hall of fame career. Here's one football fan that hopes he makes it and makes it sooner than later.

Underrated. Also one of the shortest careers for a HOF WR. 13 years 14,345 receiving yards. Sheeeesh 🔥🔥🔥

Colts from 2002 to 2011 were without a doubt the most fun to watch team I’ve ever seen. Sundays just were not the same when their run was over.

Wayne and Harrison are probably one of the best receiver duo’s off all time especially with Manning throwing the ball.

Reggie Wayne was a pass-catching machine who could play the game for the passion. He and Marvin Harrison were the greatest Colts wideout duo of all-time who played along with Peyton Manning. He is now wideout coach for the team that drafted him, so he is teaching the wideouts how to play the position.🏈🏈🏈🏈🏈🏈

The man was an absolute model of consistency and had unparalleled work ethic. Such an honour to have watched him play. THE greatest Colts receiver ever and by far a top 5 Colt all time

Honestly I would put him 3rd. Manning, Harrison, Wayne LOL those 3 were the best easily, and played the best together.

2000-2010 had probably the best batch of wide receivers for us to watch as NFL fans. Moss, Owens, Harrison, Wayne, Fitzgerald, Boldin, Holt, Bruce, cris Carter, Keyshawn, Ocho, Housh, Andre Johnson, Calvin Johnson, McCardell, Jimmy Smith, Rod Smith, McCaffrey, Horn, Muhammad, Driver, Jennings, Hines Ward, Roddy White, Brandon Marshall, Colston, Welker, Santana Moss, Harvin, Hester, Plaxico, Desean, Nicks....and that’s just to name a few 🤯🤯🔥🔥
