    Never will see one player impact the playoff season like Bob Sanders did in 2006. He was the reason they got to the SuperBowl and won it that year.

    Bob played 2 full seasons. He got 1st team all pro both of them, and Defensive player of the year once.. That's all you need to know. Had this man 3 more healthy seasons, he'd be in the HOF.

    When Bob was healthy he was as good as any safety. I'm a eagles fan but everybody know Bob gave the colts a crazy defense bonus

    I love you Bob. You were absolutely the best strong safety in the game that there ever was. Doesn’t matter what highlights I watch. You were on a completely different level. You couldn’t be bargained with, you couldn’t be reasoned with, and you absolutely would not stop.     @@carsonwentzisfat4623 Freeney & Mathis were the 2 best combo duo to ever do it. Freeney was only good at the pass rush, he didn’t do so well at run stop. But Freeney was one of the colts best defense of player. If he was never hurt going into the super bowl we loss, I truly believe colts would have beaten saints.

    For the time that Bob was healthy - he played safety as well as ANYBODY I've ever seen including Ed Reed, Ronnie Lott and Troy Polamalu. Dude only had two full seasons and won DPOY in one of them AND a Super Bowl. AND he still has 12 minutes worth of actual highlights from basically just two seasons. Wow.

    I was at that Houston game. I as a writer was fortunately chosen to write,and produce the Colt's team song in October of 03.(Getting Colt's Crunk). Marketing director gave me six floor tickets for the season. I couldn't believe how close I was to the action.

    I was lucky enough to see him in college. He was largely underrecruited because of his size and ended up pretty much every Iowa fans favorite defensive player.

    I was a kid when he was in his early years, but Bob was one of the reasons I loved and continued doing football as a kid, Him and Freeney were my role models i would write about in kindergarten other than my dad haha. Loved watching some clips I don't remember cause of how young I was. Truly a Colts Legend

    Tony Dungy called him the eraser. Absolutely smoked guys. I am a Hurricane fan and he reminds me of Rohan Marley, linebacker at UM. Same as Nate Webster. Shorter and had crazy leverage. In football, low man wins and they understood how to stick.

    Bob Sanders was one of the best defensive players I've seen play. His career was short because of his play style.

    Big part of why we went to the Super bowl and won that year he was injured alot and came back right before playoffs and he made such a difference in our defense.

    I’m a high school coach db/lb coach of 26 seasons and Sanders one of my favorites. He’s Doug Plank in hitting and tackling style but with more athleticism and speed. Of course, the eras are different in various degrees yet the results are the same via the same safety position.

    If he stayed healthy I believe there would be no argument that he was the best in that position in history. He was absolutely incredible and a complete nightmare to any man in front of him.
