Regenerate the tattered plane with outstanding sharpness

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Thank you for watching.
This time, I got an old canna with tattered and rusty rust, so I took a total of 50 hours to repair it until it could be used.
Personally, I like videos that play old tools, so I tried it for the first time to try it myself.
As expected, it was used by professionals, and I am very satisfied with the finish and sharpness.
When I examined the paper (an old leaflet of Higeta Shoyu) that was sandwiched between the plane blade and the plane in the video, I found that it was the leaflet used around the 1970s.
We are very grateful to Higeta Shoyu for the direct confirmation and the very polite response from the person in charge.
I was deeply moved when I learned that the plane was used before I was born.
I would like to continue uploading videos related to woodworking, so please subscribe and rate if you like.

    鉋かける時は、刃ではなく台を持つと良いですよ。 台は平らでも削れないので、台直しする事もお勧めします!

I think you might want to add thickness on the bottom of the plane, the mouth of the Dai is quite wide now

PLease, next time you do one of these do not use abrasive brushes or chemicals to remove the rust, convert that rust into ferro ferric oxide (BLUING) by boiling all of those items in water. This restores some of the oxidised steel into bluing which can hold oil and prevent further rusting. grinding off or etching off the rust means you LOSE all that protective potential.

@@KITUNEBI-ch I learned this by watching all of Mark Novak's videos here on youtube, he is probably the best gunsmith in the entire united states and he is very articulate and has a good way of explaining things. rust bluing is how the old timers would blue guns, they would do something to make them rust then boil them in water.

    初めましてこんにちは。 鉋の刃机の上等に置く時は鎬が下になるように(刃先と机等が接触しないように)置く方が良いですよ◎ 台治し、裏馴染み等も治すと更に良くなると思います🙏

Can I propose to you a recipe to remove dust? Bicarbonate of sodium plus white vinegar.

Thank you for watching. I remove dust and dirt with a surfactant. Rust is removed with a rust remover, but recently I've been using strong citric acid.
