Refurbished FS&S Thunderbolt 1003 Fire Siren Test | Fire Signal | Mineola, NY | 6-2-23 (NO BLOWER)

So this test was utter chaos lol, so I decided for my first NY test to meet up with GS Piedmont at this 1003 in Mineola, so many things went wrong at this test though, first GS Piedmont got an Uber to the wrong fire department, so he decided to try to get an ambience from there, and then the blower on this 1003 decided to quit. (It probably tripped the breaker on the motor starter from being reversed upon its installation a couple weeks back) Other than the fact it was quiet as hell, it sounded good. I plan to contact the FD within the next couple of days about the issue.

So I live in an area like you (in PA but 5 miles from Trenton) where the sirens are all at FD’s and go off randomly. To video sirens, do you just ask them to activate it, or do you wait for it to go off for a fire call?

Most of the Sirens I film have test times usually you can probably find them on siren maps, or ask the city if they test them

Chopper level 1 without blower sounds like chopper level 2 aka the loaner thunderbolt chopper level

I could've sworn I saw a video on memorial day of it going off in the background of a video, idk if it tripped the breaker again or if the siren was close enough to the bolt for it to be heard without the blower

I think the blower is off because people around the fire station are annoyed from the loudness from this, so they turned the blower off to make it less loud?

i thought blower motor failure month was over
If the blower was working, it would've still shutted off as the chopper began to wind down anyways. Still great catch, though.
