“Reform UK Should Be A Serious Concern For Labour”

Reform UK has secured a fifth seat as the final election result in England was declared at South Basildon and East Thurrock, following a recount.
James McMurdock narrowly defeated the Labour candidate by 98 votes, replacing Conservative Stephen Metcalfe.
He joins leader Nigel Farage as the second Reform UK MP in Essex after Farage's victory in Clacton.
Kevin O'Sullivan speaks with Talk's International Editor, Isabel Oakeshott.

The people who run the Labour party put their internationalist sympathies well before the working people of the UK. If you don't have an education you are (usually) left with just the option of offering your muscle and time. These people are often the working class. Everyone understands "supply and demand" and how too much supply will reduce the price, so why does the Labour party invite millions of workers into the country and pretend that it will not adversely affect the group they claim to represent. In history there are one or two events that prove the above point. For example the black death culled half the population of medieval Britain but within a few decades the surviving working class were free from Serfdom. BTW, it's not just working class income. Ask any young person today how difficult it is to find a home they can afford to rent. Again there are just too many people seeking too few homes. We will never build our way out of this if our populations grows by 600k people per annum. A country the size of the UK will eventually break if the current population growth continues to increase at current levels.

1,200,000 immigrants came to the UK in 2023. The net figure was 685,000. What infrastructure improvements have to be made or will homelessness, overcrowding, serious road congestion, service queues and deprivation inevitably occur ? Most concening is the cost of these improvements. How many new towns, new schools and hospitals, additional roads and extra motorway lanes and new wider bridges will be needed in the short term. The list goes on. Of course we can all suffer from life approaching asphyxiation with all the medical and psychological effects that are likely to result. HAVE THE POLITICAL PARTIES COSTED THIS IN THEIR MANIFESTOS ?

We cannot build houses that are needed using traditional means as the tradesmen are not available and 9" bricks make it utterly impossible. A huge change is needed to factory design and standardised units including precast foundations and meccano type sectional roofs incorporating insulation and fully integrated 100% solar roof structure. Of course cycle lanes and potted plants will have to be scrapped or relocated to allow passage for wide loads. The ambulances, police and fire will be delighted. BUILD FOR TOMORROW AND NOT YESTERDAY
