Roy Clark, Chet Atkins, Jerry Reed....yeah the list goes on. I am not a huge fan of country but these guys are fantastic....as is Johnny!

He's county royalty. Every country artists knows who he is. Ask Garth, Alan Jackson, Vince Gill, or Brad Paisley. They all know him.

Have you heard of Clarence Gatemouth Brown? Great guy, musician, guitarist, and fiddle player. Check out his song Boiling Point, there is some amazing guitar picking.

Johnny is one awesome player! I used to see him play with band on lower Broadway in Nashville at Robert's Western World about 20 years ago. The G3 tour in 2003 stopped here at the Ryman, with Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, and Yngwie Malmsteen. Johnny came out at the end of the show (with Neal Schon) and "shredded" with all of them adding his touch of "Nashville" to what he was playing. They all had a good laugh...

Every time I watch Johnny play I wanna chuck my guitars out the window. He's the master.

Honestly, I think this guy is one of the most most accomplished guitarists out there! Never tire of hearing his playing. Wish he’d come to the UK. Seems like a cracking guy too.

What I like about Johnny is he absolutely loves it! He's like a comedian who laughs at his own jokes...Awesome.

I love this guy, I need to listen to some of his songs, also what a happy person too, it just makes me smile, and also play guitar😄

Here's what gets me about music. You see how he hits a really great riff and a smile comes over his face (and his bassists)? He did that for himself. He played a tune and joy was fed back. It's like tickling yourself but with tunes.

I have always loved heavy metal guitarists but this guy always puts a smile on my face whenever I see and hear him play. Such a genuine person.

339 ppl are jealous and tone deaf. The level of musicality of Hiland is second to none. Genius.

Leo Fender shouldve got royalties every time a fender played on a recording. Hiland busts out a VH run in the middle of that country style Whoa! What a Boss!

I don’t follow this genre and have never heard of this gentleman - blown away! Phenomenal!

Best thing about my NAMM show visit years ago was seeing him just sitting, chilling and playing some of the most beautiful guitar I’d heard. I was just getting some strings and going to see my uncle at his booth. Right there at my left just sitting there he was and playing away like it was nothing. Lucky me.

I've watched this video soooo many times. Always gives me good vibes. Johnny's playing is awesome but the fact that he loves that much what he does is even more awesome

What i like about Johnny's videos is he really gets a kick out of playing always finishes a phrase with a smile ...

Despite what he was telling his students on one of his videos about how he makes mistakes sometimes when he is playing, I have listened to Johnny live over a period of 2 years(20 years ago in Nashville) for probably several hundred hours at least and I NEVER heard him make a mistake, miss a note, play a wrong chord, mess up in any way whatsoever!! At the level of guitar he was playing then(just like now) this is phenomenal!!

you can just feel the happiness radiating off of him! he rocks

Mad respect to Johnny for becoming such a master of your craft w/o even being able to watch what you’re doing as you practice. Most ppl can’t fathom having that much passion and dedication for being the best player one can be, so I commend you for being such an inspiration to get off my ass and get to work!

I hate the twangy sound of telecasters, but this guy is an out of this world artist! What a talent.
