Been comforting myself by playing other games. I'm tired on playing ships after 3 years of it. *Why a CV rework video of all things?* Because I genuinely thought it is an interesting change. Mind you that I suck at micromanagement and that's why RTS CV never caught my interest. This is my take on the new CV gameplay. Yes, I'm fully aware that some if not most of you just _hates and despises_ CV in general (probably don't care even) so even if you don't enjoy this particular video at least you could see what I, and other CV players have been dealing with. *Warships_001?* Press acc. I've been playing on incognito so none of you could expect what's coming. This acc will soon be disabled so don't bother with it. *"These won't be possible after **0.8.0.3**"* Everything I did is still doable post-patch, just more difficult. They didn't nerf the rocket damage so all you do is adapt. As for spotting reduction, I am split with this but then I realized that if WG wants to hammer CV "influence" so badly to the point of uselessness, then so be it. I didn't take part in changes done to the CVs. *Overall opinion on the rework?* Gameplay wise, I like it. Have to say its quite immersive and intuitive compared to RTS gameplay. I HATE the automatic fighters/damecon and ship controls just like everyone else, but its been positive overall. Yet in all honesty, I cannot see _any_ solution that can make CV an enticing class to play without making everyone in the match disgusted by their existence. WG can make them perfectly balanced and people would still hate it

I think most people just forgot how easy it was for a pre rework CV to spot all 3 caps at the same time and delete any ship he wanted just because they only had a CV in maybe 10% of their games at most and even then the CV player might not be all that skilled. CVs after the rework were weaker than before with the obvious exception of the 0.8.0 Hakuryu cheese strats shown in Flying Shimakaze, also there was her stealth triple drop and the 'F' key abuse. Now after a three nerf hotfixes in a row they are just a shadow of their former selves. Right now they would need some buffs to plane survivability and the proposed change to stacking AA as well as some smaller stat adjustments to rockets and bombs (+/- 20% tops, instead of 100% all or nothing changes). This is from the point of a BB and Cruiser player.

??? 0.8.0.3 has made it nigh impossible to take on DD's unless the team is spotting them. One of the biggest buffs to them in a while.

you dont seem to play DDs right? yea sure the spotting range of carriers was nerfed. DDs are still bottom tier. you get permaspotted by CV and radar, and radars will even get buffed next patched. if a carrier wants u dead, u will die no matter what you do :) @@hailitalia86

@@greifer3866 I play all the types. Good to have the perspective of all ya know. Even before when the rework went live I played like used to. Charging ahead to get to the cap first and it didn't work out well lol. 2 or 3 days I did the same thing over and over, definition of insanity lol. Then I started moving up with the fleet at half speed and would work on contesting. Worked out so much better as the other teams DDs just kept rushing up and dieing, maybe getting the cap. Once the enemy DD was dead or driven out then I would go in and grab the cap or at least contest to stop the point bleed. Since doing that my survivability with DDs went up and, surprisingly, my win rate as well. Since the 3rd hotfix though, I do what I just said and turn off my AA. By the time the carrier sees me and turns around I have vanished again and he can't do a thing to stop me. They can go into attack preemptively, but once they see you and manuever they have a huge bloom and miss almost all the rockets. Just a huge buff they did, instead of doing small tweaks. That is their style though lol, what a mess.

you made a fair point. i will try to include that in my dd play in the future. im not a bad player ( around 55% WR ) but my DD play is lacking in the "early game" still though, i fking fking hate the game balance atm. Playing a DD is so much harder than the rest of the Ships, not regarding the players skill, i think WG needs to show some love to DDs. dont know how they could though tbh.. @@hailitalia86

@@greifer3866 For sure! I have a replay of a battle of mine with a random guy in 8.0.2 I think. He had Loyang and was the only DD and the game had 2 CVs. Told him to stick with my div as we had 2bbs and a cruiser or something like that. He did and was the number 1 player on our team and lived through the whole game. I gotta stop dragging my feet and post it to a new channel I made. Only have one video up right now. Radar def is annoying and would like to see it expose the person using the radar and/or not have it go through islands. The best way they can make CVs not prioritize DDs is to make it viable to attack the other ships. When I play CV I cannot think of approaching a BB or cruiser. I will maybe get my first run off, but usually lose the whole squadron if I try for a second. Same for attacking the enemy cv. Have to wait till late game to attack them. That makes it so I am only able to attack the DDs that have charged ahead or are lone wolfing. It seems it is impossible to please everyone at this point. I usta hate CVs pre rework as they had insane Alpha strikes. At this point I'm ok with the chip damage over the old alpha. I don't want to see them deleted anymore, wanted that pre rework. I have noticed less island humping/ smoke HE spam with CVs in game. Thank God as I stopped playing high tier cuz that meta is boring and frustrating as hell. Also with them stopping charging DDs I've seen less immediate torpedo soup spam as well, which hurt the meta too, I think. German BB is my fav as I like brawling so the high tier meta doesn't really encourage that. It is a mess, sadly.

​@@warlynx5644 A bit salty, but tier 4 is really boring. 1 torpedo plane in attack, realy? Torpedoes deal about 2,500 DMG. It's less than the salvo from the cruiser. Airplanes are slow and sluggish. Bombs and rockets barely do anything. You rely on fires, and on this tier, with such a small amount of bombs / rockets to attack it is pure RNG. And you have to get 68,000 EXP to get tier 6. This is boring after 5 games. After 30 you want to commit suicide.

Can confirm. Only have a few matches in my shiny new Midway and I already don’t want to play the ship anymore. Got a solo warrior earlier (due to timer to be fair) and got reported 4 times. Guess it’s to be expected wows community always been toxic to CV players and now it’s ramped up to 11 even after nerfs.

Don't worry too much about it, people can be very toxic over dying lol. As long as the CV is helping out (damage or spotting wise) it doesn't matter to me. Plus, I feel like I've seen that NotoriousRNG guy around being toxic in my past games (his username sounded familiar). Edit: I replayed it, yeah he wasn't going to avoid and live from the CV anyway... with that 219 HP left. Toxic people will always find something to blame for their death. He even highlighted around A to kill the DD smh

@@aaliuphung It wasn't the straw that broke the camel's back, but it was the second to last one: the game right before the one where I quit I was playing a 1/1/1 ranger up against a 1/2/0 (I think) Saipan being captained by a guy with hundreds of wins in it, something crazy like an 86% win rate and the guy had two ships with AA as team mates (forgot which.) I singlehandedly managed to keep the Saipan down to getting off only one attempted attack in the entire match (while his faster fighters kept me down to only a single attack too) and I think we won in the end, but for the latter 1/3rd of the match I had some guy berating me the entire time for not somehow doing *more* against this guy.

And no, it isn't because I am a DD main. No actually, I am a BB main, but all those planes and constant air attack is consistently fucking up my ability to support my teammates. And CV permaspotting is a problem. In a game with my Shiratsuyu I was constantly spotted by rocket planes, which constantly set me on fire, which coupled with the bombardment I suffered from every ship within range meant that I died just after the three minute mark.
