he said it himself he liked matt and that he would be rooting for him if he had not been in that season... so the plus side is that Russell was team Matt after his elimination. He was also a good sport to Rob and shook his hand at the finale. Russell is a good guy, just competitive.

Natalie and Sandra are bad at this game and if we list every winner by their skill level and not their winning game, those two rank low. He just calls it like he sees it.

I mean... Phillip actually was a federal agent and served in the Army. His brother is also a Police chief, so I wouldn't be surprised if his brother coached him about being able to notice deception if he didn't already know.

Honestly I think he's playing a character when he's on survivor kind of like coach don't get me wrong I think the line between the real person and the character is very thin but a lot of the things that he does I think is just him exaggerating his personality especially in fans versus favorites you can tell by the way he smiles and laughs at a lot of the things he says and does but a lot of it is just Philip being annoying like him getting into the pool all dirty

He cried because he knew that's a wrap on his Survivor career and even years later when he played in Australia, was voted out 2nd or 3rd. Russel realistically can never play again. Even if he genuinely wants to redeem himself. He will get the boot first chance the other players get.

Yeah in the Aussie version that was his fourth time playing and he made the wrong decision by showing people the immunity he found and didn’t play it

Like him or not, Russell is one of the strongest competitors to ever play this game. For him to end up on a tribe that would throw a challenge just to get rid of him ... that's a shame.

Yeah honestly, the first time I ever watched survivor was heroes vs villains (the only season on Netflix at the time) and I was completely enamored with him and how good he was at the strategy and lying and stuff. When it was getting towards the end and I realized there was a jury I flipped my perception completely, because he was being so aggressive and mean for no reason with a jury at the end. But I’ve come to realize he’s just someone who had a very strong strategy game, and no social game, and we’ve seen winners that had the opposite

It was sad to see one of the most entertaining characters go like that. I'm glad russell's tribe ended up getting wrecked in merge because of it.

Russel Played stupid game in this season. He had two girls that were in his alliance and he didmt care for rest. It was normal to get him out

Literally even with Russell distraught, he STILL got Ralph to basically admit he has an idol lmao. KING RUSSELL needs to come back in an all-star season. No newbies.

Even if he did come back, which will never happen, he would be an early boot. Like we saw in All-Stars and Game Changers, the better players get targeted early, and then we end up with mediocre finals.

I knew she was going to lose I hate her for something that's not even her fault they picked her over I forget her name Russell's girl I usually know her name but I just smoked a lot of weed you know who I'm talking about the one that everybody didn't like this season but I really liked and she was on the ballot for second chance

Sing Russell cry over his loss kind of breaks my heart a little bit because you could tell he wanted to play a different game it's not like heroes versus villains where he was out of his mind from playing too much he was trying to be part of a team granted he was starting to fall back into his old ways but they didn't even give him a chance

I love that he's able to cause trouble even when out of the game lmao

Hate him or love him, Russell is an all time great and could not have been more spot on at 5:45. He literally called it, Ometepe went on to dominate the game which resulted in Rob steamrolling the game to victory.

I feel bad for Russell for the first time in forever😂😂

Not even top 20. He was made a pet by Parvati, he was played by Sandra multiple times on HvV. He underestimated both his finalists and bring the 2 players that could beat him in a landslide. He should have bring somebody like Danielle or Jerry to the final because he would have some chances to win, although I still predict he would lose. However he eliminated Danielle simply because he was jealous. He played using his emotions not his brain. Then he choose Sandra over Jerry, when its obvious to everybody watching Survivor. Sandra would get all the votes from the Heroes, but he said Sandra would get none other than Courtney. His jury management is also the worse in history. A great player need to have a great strategy, need to know who his/her threat is, need to predict the unpredictable, need to not use emotions to win, not to be rude & arrogant, need to know how to manage their jury tip top. The only thing Russell have is great strategy, other than that he has none. Russell is not even top 20.

Credits to Russ being a good sport and saying he hoped Matt could go all the way.

I think if Russell had been on the other tribe with Phillip and that bunch, he would've integrated better. It was rigged for him to lose.

You’re supposed to keep your strongest team members in the game until you merge otherwise you’ll just keep getting picked off by the other team. Getting rid of Russell so early on in the game was a dumb move.

I mean Russell wasn't really working with his tribe around camp and on his first season he lowered morale by dumping out water and burning socks causing them to lose 8-10 challenges but, in hindsight if you're playing against Boston Rob you're gonna need Russell since he technically already beat Rob in HvV already.

​@@cdawg4021 Russell had nothing to do with his tribe losing almost all of the challenges, the Foa Foa tribe was just terrible, I mean the final 4 members only made it to the final 5 depicted a 4 vs 8, because Russell kept finding idols, and also got Shambo to flip so they had the numbers

Matt should be proud. He beat the king of Immunity Idles.

Only thing that could have made this more interesting is if Rob was there to taunt Russell even more.

Hate him or love him, Russell is one of the best players in Survivor. In 4 seasons he was in 3 of them. And he made it to the final 3 back to back.

Awe its sad that he isnt doing any more survivor :( I wanted more of him. His tribe really broke him and I'll actually feel the same way as Russel did if that happened to me just "wow" to his "tribe"

Russell had the best survivor run across just 4 seasons. Playing 3/4 straight seasons is crazy and it was during a survivor era without a lot of success but the success it did get was mainly because of Russell. Probably the greatest villain in survivor history, one of the best non winners, id put him in my top 15 players of all time

Ralph represents the level of strategy the new players producers added in this god awful season.

Coming from someone (me) who literally rewatched the season a week ago can tell you that bitch didn’t win shit and sure as fuck knew nothing about it. That was a bitter jury that wouldn’t give their vote to someone who outwitted then so extremely. She stumbled around, made no moves herself, stuck with russel from day 1 as he did all the work. She road his Coattails all the way til the end and then was rewarded with the W. Natalie has absolutely zero strategic value in her brain. Every final 3 has the one person that really has no case to win. She was that person. Yet here she is. Still the winner of Survivor Samoa.

I really hope Matt comes back in another season!!!!

whats i wanted to see is rob vs Russell because in heroes vs villains rob said if i play with you again im going to kick your ass and jeff said survivor rob vs russel. and Russell has been turning nicer and more social. in heroes vs villains he used 2 idols to save alliance member's twice and in this season he didn't blindside or go behind anyone back except when he didn't show the idol clue but THAT'S THE GAME AND RALPH FOUND IT AND DIDN'T TELL ANYONE THEN YELLED AT RUSSELL FOR NOT SHOWING THE CLUE WHEN HE ALREADY FOUND IT!!

They got rid of Russel and guess what happened. Rob won, its amazing how stupid the other tribe was. You just did Robs job for him. He literally had the million at that point

Such foreshadowing by Russell.

What is funny is that Russell called it 100% accurately about Rob.

I think of the video that Sandra expressed when she celebrated Russell's overdue downfall and elimination. This was one of the best clips of the season! I was ecstatic when Russell was eliminated and never was on the jury. Matt should feel proud to have eliminated one of the worst social players ever and if I were Matt, I would not be sympathetic to Russell after the duel. Zapatera made the right decision to throw the challenge to eliminate Russell because if they did not, their time in the game would have been jeopardized. Watching Russell cry was fun!

Though Russell happens to now be out, he will never be out of survivor. If a vote was held on it, undoubtedly Russell would be the best player of survivor to date. no one ever played better, harder, and dirtier than that of any player. i love how they threw a challenge to vote him out, because that shows how stupid people are. I have watched the latest episode today so i know already that they are royally screwed for the rest of this game

@crapolaist That's not to say that Russell wasn't deserving to win as well. If you make it to the end you deserve to win, the question is whether or not the jury is voting with their hearts or their brains; if they were voting with their brains, Russell would've won both times. I'm a person who chooses brains over heart, so obviously I'm disappointed with people who choose their heart.

He was justified to be honest, his tribe did indeed throw the challenge with the sole purpose to get him out. Russell's allies were the next two voted out from the tribe, so that should tell you everything about how much they wanted Russell out
